I think it’s probably time to stop saying it’s a small limited membership now.

Biggest membership I’m in by quite a bit judging solely off Facebook group membership.


Curious if people just didn’t join or if they’re adding more people on top of what was added this year.

 

Not sure I’ve seen many say that in here. I recall at least of few comments about how it’s at least 3-5x larger than when it originally started. Several hundred people isn’t limited.

 

And they still won’t let me in….


Seeing the Facebook post, I was wondering if it was going to approach MT numbers. Maybe this is a response to things not selling out quickly in the online sales, or another way to move a bunch of white labels.

 

Since today at 9am was the cut off I take it that people didn’t reup.

 

I’m not an unapologetic SP fanboy, but La Coterie is the most no-brainer membership in the country.

 

Is there a La Coterie specific Facebook group for members?

 

Cory keeps reiterating that their production has not increased much over the past few years, and is still rather "small". I'm thinking more members means less beer available for public releases?

 

Likely a way to maintain hype and reduce the time that things sit on the website. Members are usually offered big releases outside of the packages, so this would help move bottles but still allow them to package for public drops. I’m more curious as to how they will handle a drop that is less than the number of members and the flak they might catch when a member exclusive drop sells out in an instant.

 

LC members can confirm or not, but I believe this has happened before with a bottle or two where there weren’t enough bottles for every member of a limited release.

 

The one and only time (I believe) they offered la coterie a beer that was not guaranteed to all members was DB Anabasis. Probably back when membership was around 500 members

Right, but I’m pretty sure that won’t happen again. If there isn’t enough bottles to release to la coterie, it will be on-site only. DB anabasis was the exception given they weren’t open at any location at the time (I believe it was when they were still shutdown and curbside only, although I might be wrong).

 

This is correct and was stated in the release email. The rush to buy also crashed the website and they had to re-do the sale. People were sitting around refreshing trying to get through for over an hour before SP sent another email saying any purchases that went through were null. This led to them changing platforms for online sales.

 

This could also mean that he has more barrels maturing than he had in the past. Not sure if that makes sense given the age of the brewery at this point, but maybe?
