I’m slightly disappointed we haven’t seen a rev/SP collab yet

This is an interesting idea, because I feel like Rev might be a bit turned off by SP's skyhigh prices, and at the same token, I'm not sure SP would "slum" it with those affordably priced canned beers.

I'm poking fun, but seriously, this seems like an ideological difference that might make collaborating difficult.

Side Project has collabed with Boulevard and 4 Hands among others that would classify as more affordable. The more pertinent question would be "Is Cory friends with the people as Rev?"

Bingo. He’s mentioned multiple times that he only collaborates with friends. He won’t collaborate for hype.

That's a good point, but were either of those BA stouts or BA BWs? I'm not aware of the ones you're talking about, so maybe?

I just have a hard time seeing them (even under the shared label) putting out a BA stout/BW that is less than $40/bottle. That would be quite generous for SP pricing, but that's quite far from anything Rev would consider normally. Under normal SP collab pricing, we're looking at closer to $60/bottle, I think. Just seems hard to think Rev would go for that, and hard to think SP would go the significantly cheaper route.

Pricing is determined by who releases it. SP Coex Purple was more expensive than De Gard Coex Purple. If they are friends enough to collab, the pricing won't be an issue.

Of the Boulevard/SP collabs, the only one that was a stout was Let's Keep It Platonic*, and it was barrel-aged.

    *also a WeldWerks collab

Plus de Garde, Off Color, 2nd Shift, etc.

I highly doubt pricing structure comes into play with any collab.

I hear this, that makes perfect sense, but it's just hard to imagine seeing:

    SP/Rev Collab: $60/Bottle

    Rev/SP Collab: $50/4-pack cans.

This happened with BVC & Cycle/SP collabs that released there.

Cycle were far cheaper from what I remember.

ok let’s be real: unless it’s an anchorage collab who the hell else is going to release it and have it be more expensive than SP??

Thanks for the great example. Honestly had no idea Cycle even released a version. Can't recall anyone even talking about it.

I thought cycle weekdays were normally like $30/500ml, and if there was a slight premium for a collab, this wouldn't put it that far off $/oz, but I agree, still cheaper for sure. Obviously still quite far from Rev's pricing, but still a good example of the bridge. Thanks.

valid points. especially on TG. not sure HF’s dark, malty beers have reached or ever will reach the hype pricing. a little lacking in that dept. not familiar enough with angry chair except that their baby bottles.
