I’d drink it now. It’s a huge beer, but it wasn’t necessarily “hot” when fresh. It has a big dark fruit profile that is more similar to Anchorage stouts. Personally I thought DB Bourbon Generational had more barrel than Forever Darkness.

 

DB Bourbon Generational was like sucking beer out of the damp barrel staves. Oh man.

 

i thought FD was excellent fresh but it will be fine with a year and a half to two years on it. especially if you don’t want the massive barrel.

Hah, not bad in the least. I loved that beer.

However, Shin Shin is my one true love, which is still at the brewery, so I am too.

 

Please explain.

Forever Darkness is one of my all time favorite SP stouts even when having it at release

I thought the coffee crawl base stout was definitely made to be with the coffee. Like it's a good beer, but I don't think it should stand on it's own (though others in my group disagreed). Personally liked the Kaldi's coffee of the six, but I like my coffee stouts to be super roasty
