Love both of those! In fact, Oberon was the first MI beer I ever had, although that was (checks calendar) 25?!?!? years ago. Damn, I feel old.

Such a difficult question. From the Hudson Valley, and now in the Finger Lakes region. First answer would be Industrial Arts Wrench. Consistently good, and a not too high ABV. In the Finger Lakes, I would say Prison City DDH Mass Riot. Also great, and reasonable ABV. For an easy drinker, I would go for Newburgh Cream Ale. Great representation of the style, and never gets enough love, imo. Cheers

    How about Province?!

I’m going to recommend a fairly new one. Godspeed Sklepník. It’s great.

I have had RI beers that are better to my particular tastes, but Captain's Daughter seems to be a crowd pleaser and maybe more importantly is a FLAGSHIP that is always available in stores, bars, etc. There are other "ticker"-worthy beers locally but are not always available.

As a backup and if someone was looking for a lower ABV, I would probably nominate one of Whaler's Brewing Rise or Proclamation Ale's Derivative pale ale.

I might consider that a little bit of a cheat, since the majority if not all of the Lager is made in upstate NY and not in RI.

Yeah I was wondering when they built the new brewery did they even try to get one that would be big enough capacity to brew the lager or did they not even try to. Im guessing the latter sad to say.

It would take a good amount of real estate, and they probably maximized the undervalued land and buildings they could get with the Guild brewery in Pawtucket. If they want actual prime locations like India Point, 'Gansett will need to maximize profits from on premise service and space for brewing will be limited. Then new owners have been at it for a little while now, so maybe eventually the cash flow will be such that they can undertake a large production brewery to keep the Lager local. As it is, I believe all their seasonals and one-offs are made in Pawtucket.

I would have chosen Fat Tire until pretty recently. At the moment, I guess Odell IPA would probably be a good choice. La Folie maybe, too?
