@woemad it's obviously super big up here. Narragansett has an Autocrat coffee milk stout, even (it's pretty tasty).

I've actually been sent some Rhode Island coffee milk via this BIF, despite spending roughly half of my adult life next door.

From @Roguer and his Watson supercomputer, on our first day back at the lake, I wanted to try something special.

    This is not special.

It’s somewhere about 50 miles beyond special. Pouring that ubiquitous Tree House turbid, hazy color (in this case orange), the creamy off white head coats the glass as you drink the beer?

How do they do that EVERY SINGLE TIME? Anyway, the nose is a citrus juice lover’s delight, with slabs of mango, ripe oranges, and passion fruit assaulting your olfactory senses. Incredible.

The taste is simply the nose on PED’s, with the mango leading the citrus deployment for the ripe orange and passion fruit flavor, yet allowing a nice sweet oat flavor to cover the flank.

The mouthfeel is full, soft, and supple. It should be a felony to make an 8% ABV beer this drinkable, but it’s not surprising coming from the hazy masters.

Rated 4.60, you are a rockstar beer nerd, Andrew.

Thank you @Whyteboar, I'm gonna dig into one of these bells pretty quick here! Kiddos are already squawking at me like vultures for that fudge lmao

Pours a very hazy, dark orange color with a white head that provides significant lacing. The is heavy on the maple syrup and blueberries. I am very intrigued.

The taste is all about the maple and blueberries, with a nice balance between the two to prevent the hazy from approaching Cloyingville. Really works on my palate.

The mouthfeel is full and soft. This is a nice departure from the TH juice bomb profile, reminding you that these guys are world-class brewers for a reason.

Mmmmmmm…. Coffee milk. Both of my boys were born in Rhode Island and raised on coffee milk. Kids in the ocean state might drink chocolate milk but they prefer coffee milk. That is a fine delicacy .

Rhode Island hot weiners? Ny system! Eat them once, taste them twice!

I cut my computer teefs with MS-DOS and PC-DOS on IBM XTs and ATs and Chinese clones that did some funky crap. I do reviews on my laptop in Word (Not as good as WordPerfect) and have used LOTUS 1-2-3 before forcibly being switched to Excel. I have recently doubled my Apple cell phone usage - now, as well as calls, I use it for the GPS functions. During a software upgrade, UnTapped lost functionality and I can't say that I miss it. On rare occasions when I'm in a new-to-me purveyor of beer, I will sometimes add beers I haven't tried just for the sake of completeness, or possibly the well-thought-out and complicated reasons posited earlier. And yeah, back in the old days, I used to hang with Ninkasi

At first I thought a Rhode Island Hot Weiner must be a euphemism for an unfortunate condition, but now that I've read up on them I want to try one. Same with the coffee syrup.

They are small wieners, grilled on a hot surface, served with a toasted bun onions, a chili, meat sauce, mustard. Skilled Grillsmen will line up a dozen on his arm as he loads them up . usually a late night snack with college students to absorb a night of heavy maltrd beverages, personally I love them but you eat them once and sometimes you will taste them twice through several burps

    It’s a Rhode Island’s version of a coney dog

NEIPA hopped with Columbus, Chinook, Citra and Cashmere.

Can purchased at Vitaminsea import into a pretentious beer glass produces a light orange hazy liquid capped by a two finger fizzy fuzzy big bubbled foam cap that has good retention.

Aroma is citrus, orange rind, lemon

Taste is citrus, orange rind, lemony notes on the finish, a little dank

I think this is my last beer from @Whyteboar from our trade previous to this, but still new to me.

    Transient Artisan Ales - Contronym

    No canning date

Poured at fridge temp into a nonic glass

Pours a deep cola brown with a fairly dense tan head. Let it sit for a while accidentally and it settled into a nice ring and thin cap. 4

Gentle roasty and toasty coffee nose, some malt sweetness and dark breadiness. 4

Really reminds me of a darker and more savory julmust (Christmas soda) Dark malts, some roastiness, accompanied by dark bread. Totally love it! 4.25

Body is fairly light drinking but more filling as it sits. Carbo is balanced and not too sharp. 3.75

Overall a lovely representation of the style and one I'd absolutely return to. 4

Sampling another beer that came as part of the welcome to BIF gift box from @snaotheus Thank you!
This is Occidental Hefeweizen, 5% ABV. Ill cross post on the what NW Beer are you drinking thread.

    onto my review:

Sampling a cold 16 oz can and poured into my weiss glass. Date stamp is 10/26/2022.
The beer pours a hazy golden color with a bleached white head of 3 cm foaming up on the pour. This foam fades to a sturdy surface layer that sticks around throughout the sampling. I do get a little bit of windowpane lattice when I swirl my glass.
Aroma is hints of lemon and biscuity malt and a good dose of banana with hint of cloves. Aroma is appealing and suitable for the style.
First sip reveals a light body with fine gentle carbonation that rolls across my palate. Texture is smooth and silky.
Flavor is some light biscuity malt with hints of lemon and banana too. No hop character and I never get any hints of the ABV on this brew, which also fits.
A pretty solid hefeweizen that works well on this unseasonally warm day in Connecticut. Glad to have had the opportunity to drink this one.

Another tasty treat from @snaotheus thank you! This is Lowercase Brewing out of Seattle and their Polotmavy Pivo Czech Dark Lager, at 4.6% ABV Surprised I got to add this beer to the BA DB as well as review it!

    Onto my review:
Sampling a 16 oz can poured at cellar temp into my .5L dimple mug. Date stamp is 2/9/23. Beer pours a rich mahogany color that is so dark barely any light goes through the glass. A soft pillowy beige head of 3.5 cm foams up and fades slowly to a sturdy surface covering. Dense lattice clings to the glass when I take a sip or swirl the mug.
Aroma is dark malts and toffee, I get a bit of brown sugar and some toasted wheat bread, almost a roasted note in there. I do get some spicy or black tea scents as well to represent the hops.
First sip reveals a light body with smooth texture and fine, gentle rolling carbonation.
Flavor is similar to the nose, I get toasted grains and some wheat bread again. But here I also get bakers chocolate and some rye spiciness. the rye notes are surprising, it makes the wheat bread more pumpernickel to me. I also get a significant drying out factor on the swallow and a bit of that black tea bitterness accompanies this and lingers after the swallow.
this is a well balanced and interesting lager that I find enjoyable this evening.
