    Smells like Buffalo pilsner
    ...has a cloudy orange,amber appearance
...medium carbonation with a nice heavy full body, overall a nice feel.
....aroma is a strong yeasty crusty bread, floral honey, earthy with some malt and cereal.
...flavor is similar to aroma with a very mild sweetness coupled with an equally, very mild earthy bitterness. Has a yeasty sweetness that lingers for some time.
...overall its very good, just had a hard time really identifying the flavor but it had a low price point so that considered its worth a try[IMG]

#2, I was going to hold on to this for awhile (because that’s what I do with big stouts), but with @cavedave posting today, I decided to move it up in the rotation - and it ties into NBS BIF #17, because I sent it to my target.

Pours obsidian black with a minimal (to be kind) dark tan head that arrives late and flees early. It is easy to see this is a big ol’ imperial stout. The nose is resplendent with roasty char, rich milk chocolate and vanilla, and spicy chile aromas - and the barrel.

    Do not forget the barrel.

The taste is a decadent amalgamation of the rich milk chocolate, roasty char, vanilla, spicy chiles, and the warming barrel flavor at the very back of the palate. This is executed exceptionally well - it could venture into cloying territory, but the chiles, char, and barrel don’t allow that. Absolutely delicious.

The mouthfeel is rich, decadent, creamy, and just generally awesome - this is WAAAAAY too easy to drink at 14% ABV. Wax Wings is a hidden gem.

I do like Odell beers, even though I can only get them when I visit family in New Mexico and Idaho. And while I'm not much of a hazy fan, I did enjoy Mountain Standard the last time I had one.

Based on your detailed review, I'm still interested in trying Imperial Mountain Standard, but I think I'll aim for a single can.

Stonecloud Brewing French-Vanilla Junkie Barrel-Aged Stout, 14.4% ABV; 3.98 overall

Pours a sludgy ebony with rapidly disappearing mocha colored head. Zero head retention or lacing

S: Plenty of barrel, vanilla, dark chocolate , dark fruits, skews pretty boozey as this warms up

T: Follows the nose, plenty of barrel punch, cocoa & vanilla, plus oaky dryness up front. Boozey oak barrel, carob, rich dark chocolate, dryness & chicory as this beer warms up, more vanilla too. Finishes oaky with dark chocolate, vanilla & some lingering booze, but in a good way

MF: Chewy with low carbonation, pretty warming

Nice flavors, runs a bit hot booze-wise, a sipper for sure, complex & satisfying. Would certainly pick up another 4 pack

Erm, I might think that was an infection as it shouldn’t be sour. At least I wouldn’t think so. Sorry you got what is likely a bad bottle!

    Next up again from @WunderLlama

Trillium - Daily Serving Raspberry & passion fruit

    Canned 2.14.23

Poured at fridge temp into a weizen glass

Pours a pretty grapefruit reddish/pink with a loose off white head that completely disappeared. 4

As advertised, raspberry and tropical passion fruit on the nose, both sweet but not cloying, and a side note of tartness. 4.5

Slightly tart, raspberry again and passion fruit. I wanna say lactose sweetness as well, but there's no disclaimer of it in this beer, nonetheless amazing sour. 4.5

Sharp and acidic body with fairly high carbo, but a nice balancing almost creaminess and fullness that make it very satisfying. 4.25

Overall as Maynard said, he sent me no.1's in some styles and I'm not sure if this is one, but to me it certainly is! 4.5

...aroma is malty, yeasty, dark bread, rye bread, brown sugar.
... taste is mildly sweet, grain, doughy, sour bread.
Has a malty cereal aftertaste that lingers.
...overall its a very good beer, body is the weakest part but otherwise enjoyable [IMG]

Ok...back with a legit contribution that is hopefully some Maine deliciousness. It's kinda starting with an 0 - 2 count...DIPA is not a favorite, and Citra is not one of my favorite hops. Definitive - the brewery starts to even up the count quickly.

At any rate, this is Float from Definitive. DIPA canned about a week ago - slightly smudged date, but March 2023 for sure. Dry-hopped with Citra and Simcoe (cryo pellets) and here's an interesting twist - Loral cryo pellets. By what I gather, Loral is of the Noble hop lineage, so how is floral/herbaceous gonna fit with the New World citrusy hops?

Pour is opaque, kinda orange/pineapple color with a lush 3/4 inches of creamy head. The head falls to a chunky layer and I can tell walking the glass is going to be fun...tenacious cling.

The smell is refreshing and inviting. Tropical and some citrus fruit, mainly papaya and pineapple with a brief whiff of orange...okay that's the obvious. Not so obvious - a slightly dank, herbaceous, floral note - quite earthy. Then as things sort out, some peach and tangerine roll through. The Noble hop character could have easily gone way off the rails here, but it is just a component of a pleasing aroma overall.

As expected, a tropical/citrus flavor bomb in the opening of the taste. Super-juicy. Papaya, pineapple, the citrus taste leans more lemony than orange but there's some tangerine as well. There's enough malt present in the taste to keep things grounded. In the aftertaste, there's some Noble hop spiciness but just a wee bit. There is an herbaceous floral flavor floating over the top, but it's strangely integrated and doesn't seem out of place. A little peach flavor emerges with repeated sips adding another interesting layer.

The feel is plush. Moderately carbonated, it's soft and full. That little spiciness lingers atop the tropical fruit aftertaste - very pleasant to me.

Overall, a surprisingly enjoyable beer. There's a nice mix of fairly intense flavors here that all melds cohesively. Very well-conceived and nicely constructed recipe. I think the Loral hops could have easily blown this up, but if Loral flavors are as I understand them from Da Google it is deftly integrated and I find the effect pleasing. In the 4.3 area, easily. I'd like to see a variant using Galaxy.

Thanks to @AzfromOz for getting us started in style. Thanks to @DIM for sending this one! Mighty from Tree House. An American barleywine.

Poured at fridge temp. Pours a beautiful murky/opaque reddish brown. A very thin layer of off-white head.

The nose is quite IPA like. Getting some nice citrus peel, pine needles, slight toffee, marmalade, rhubarb, and a hint of leather. Very nice.

The taste is fantastic. American barleywine indeed! The hops are front and center right out of the gate. However, definitely balanced by the toffee and bready malts. Grapes, unripe plums, raspberries, pine, grapefruit peel, leather, and a slight note of honey. Wow - this really has an intense flavor. If you like American-style barleywines, this is for you!

Hoppin' Frog - All Along the Terp Tower, a blonde ale.

16oz can served in a footed pilsner glass. Best by Nov 9 2025 (that seems reeeaaallly far out for a blonde ale). Received from @Ozzylizard in NBS BIF #17.

Pours a foggy light yellow, fairly large head that settles into about a one millimeter thick stable layer. Smell is marijuana and honeysuckle, with a little bit of a graininess. And maybe some bubblegum.

Taste is pretty similar, but doubles down on the pot. Sweetness is a little stronger and more generically floral, has a bit of an herbal (non-pot) turn to it.

Mouthfeel is light, airy, fluffy. Overall, this is an interesting blonde ale. All that pot aroma makes me expect some bitterness, but it's pretty sweet and the resin is pretty muted. Probably pretty far from a traditional blonde, but I'm enjoying it.
