The spouse and I got to visit Lost Shoe Brewery in Marlborough on Sunday. We really enjoyed our visit. They had 16 taps available and at least a dozen options in cans. They do small pours and sell single cans to-go so you can sample a number of beers either in the tap room or at home.

I was especially excited to see so many British styles (mild, red, brown, barleywine) and Belgian styles (wit bier, dubbel, tripel, quad) available. The Dark Mild on nitro was fantastic. And I enjoyed samples of the Dopplebock and Dubbel. Picked up cans of the English Brown, the New Zealand Pils, the barleywine, and a bottle of their barrel-aged belgian strong ale collab with Armory's Tomb. Didn't try any of the IPAs this trip but they had four pouring.

They also roast their own coffee beans and open up as a cafe in the mornings. The food options are pretty limited cafe options (pizza, pretzel, bagel, etc) but I think you can bring in your own food. The atmosphere was pretty chill at lunch time but a band was setting up.

I'd definitely return, especially with so many other good breweries to visit in the area.

The nitro will be polarizing...wonder if they ever do a cask?

Visited Tilted Barn and West Passage in Little Rhody a week ago. I like them both, beer was excellent, but was stunned by the transformation of Tilted Barn into a modern facility. Hadn't been for several years. I miss the old rickety barn....

Anyone planning on going? I, unfortunately, cannot make it up for MtL day. Kind of a bummer actually. Spring time is a nightmare of practices, games, birthday parties, yard work that I can't skip for an imperial stout.

Also, speaking of breweries, I went to Bissell Bros on Wednesday for lunch and man the food was excellent. Czech dark not so great. Group Therapy (a blended farmhouse) was fucking spectacular. @MattOC introduced himself to me, too. Is he not on here any more?

The brewery was an absolute day care. Tons of families with kids (including mine and our friends' kids). Incredibly, I didn't see any children smashing glassware, climbing on fermentation vessels, or blowing their noses on other patrons. I heard that's what happens every time kids go to breweries.

You even missed a few breweries including Oxbow which is the best of the lot.

Also forgot Hi-Fidelity. That might be the most brewery dense mile or two stretch in the US.

Have you been to Hi Fidelity? Thinking of stopping there on a crawl next month.

The Winter Hill Brewing beer garden in Ball Square, Somerville is open for the season! I was told they will be open every Saturday through the end of June. They weren't sure yet about July/August. Today they have 2 draft options, 2 can options, wine and food from SB Meats.

Seattle's Ballard neighborhood may hold that title. There's about 8 breweries within a few blocks.

Also went to CBC today and the IPA they introduced today is the best mosaic feature I've had in some time. The English Pale (The Landlady) was solid too.

My wife and I went to Dirigible Brewing Company in Littleton MA yesterday afternoon to check the place out. You can bring your own food, which we did, although they did have a food truck. There was supposed to music according to their website, but no one showed up while we were there.
The beers were solid with many different styles on tap. I got their English Mild and their Steam beer. The Mild was solid, but I really enjoyed the steam beer. The Mrs got a flight of their IPA’s which she liked.
Overall a good experience, and when they get their patio up and running(under construction) it’ll be nice to have the option to sit outside.

Nice. I suppose it would depend on the distance since Portland has 9 or so in that stretch. It’s the most dense in New England for sure.

10 within a few blocks in North Park, San Diego. I love areas like these with loads of walkable breweries.

Went to Providence Brewing company and Revival on Saturday. Literally building next store to each other. Didn’t think Pvd brews were any good and Revival is ok but pizza looked good. There is a distillery across street as well but didn’t stop since had race next morning and already too much booze

PBC is one of my least favorite breweries in the state. I only went once and had 2-3 different beers, ranging from average to pretty bad. Revival used to be better in their old location, in both beer and food, but the new space holds concerts which is cool
