just to mix things up, how do folks feel about packages now that they’re getting 375s of the main bottle in them instead of 750s??

I don't buy them.

Yeah easy pass with having to buy 6 bottles this time.

 

By volume of beer there is 7x more saison than there is barleywine in that package. Yikes

I'm not against packages, but my beer spending habits have changed. If this package was two bottles less AND I didn't buy an OLR Kriek, I may have jumped.

The thing that frustrates me is I'm skeptical to buy any non dark beer anymore, because as soon as I buy it, it pops up in a package. I'm not into having multiple bottles in my cellar to experiment with anymore. It's an absolute deal breaker for me.

I bet many share my perspective, and IMO that's why these non dark beers hang around so long. I'll wait until I see a couple in a package or get the opportunity to try onsite instead. of buying the single.

 

I'm with you. The only reason I bought a D17 package is because I was gonna buy all of the packaged beers individually anyway. On another note, I wish they would turn comments back on during releases on IG. Always loved seeing all of the comments from people butthurt that they missed out lol

 

I didn't even know this was a thing until I saw it was sold out on IG; what good is being on the e-mail list if they don't tell me about wonderful sales like this?

 

Consistency regarding sales has not been a thing for SP.

 

Aren’t you in LC? Do packages matter to LC members? I thought they had the option of buying the release like this singly and as a package before the public. I’d imagine you have the opportunity to buy everything else in package as a solo bottle as well.

 

It’s easy to say when you don’t have to fight for a release. That said, I agree. Comments are the best. To be that upset about missing out on a beer to gripe to the brewery is absurd.

 

Most packages have been offered to LC along with the option to purchase the single bottle of stout/BW but LC did not get the package option for this one.

 

Okay, but were the other bottles in the package not available otherwise to LC?

If so, then why would the package matter? Most seem to not love the packages anyways.
