I picked up another Summerfest 6-pack. Next to it was a new arrival from Oregon, Deschutes King Crispy (Pilsner), so I now have two to compare.

I found Goose Island's new addition to their portfolio earlier in the week: Full Pocket Pilsner.

Don't ask me what it means, but I have to admit that it's a pretty easy-drinking, every day beer.

Definitely need to pick up another couple of 6ers, because this is drinking REALLY well. Delicious lemongrass and more bread than I remember. So easy drinking and flavorful. Well done, SN.

They are both great beers. Crispy's hops are more floral and perfume. For Summerfest I get more of a woody, earthy hop character and a bit more malt in the back ground. Crispy was $11.99. Summerfest was $10.99. Trumer is $9.99 at a grocery and $8.99 at TJs so that will remain my go-to Pilsner. I prefer the taste too.

More choices are very welcome in the craft lager category.

Yes, it is nice to have choices such as these.

When I have a number of brands that I enjoy drinking I will often use the packaging date as a 'guide' for making a selection: buy the freshest of the 4-5 brands.

    Cheers!

In this case Summerfest is a few weeks fresher, 3/29 v. 3/13 for King Crispy. Trumer is local and "fresh" but of course they use best by date. I'm assuming it's a 6 month window but we all know about using the word assume.

According to the below linked website Trumer uses a 5 month best by duration:

“The date is 150 days from bottling.”

I was just thinking about their BB dating some time ago. I *think* it is 6 months too but it would be good to get a definitive value.

See I had thought it was 5 months too but for some reason I thought I came across one instance where it had to have been 6 months, which changed my mind. ::shrug:::

Copped a 6 pack of cans within the city limits of Chicago (Beer Temple). 3/28/23 date.

I've never had this beer, looking forward to it!

A friend brought over a few Summerfest cans - phenomenal, well-balanced pilsner. SN almost never disappoints.

As I make it through 12 pack number 2 (split the second one with my brother) this keeps getting better for my palate.

Went to the big box retailer over the weekend -- their one case is gone and not replenished.

Local grocer is supposed to have it, but I haven't checked.

Too busy with local Maibocks right now.

I was grocery shopping at my local supermarket earlier today and I was hoping to buy some Summerfest but it was not there. :slight_frown:

I did find a 12-pack of fresh Yuengling Lord Chesterfield though!!

    Cheers!

1st post on this topic was 3/29/23, been looking for it since, been to grocery stores, liquor stores, bottle shops and anyplace that sells beer, can't find it. That being considered all we get from SN is SNPA, Torpedo and that "Hazy thing" line. Where's the rest?

FWIW I too not have not seen Summerfest at any of my local beer retailers but I will continue looking.

    Cheers!

That sucks, but I haven't seen it in many places up north here, either.

    Have you tried the finder?
