The Bourbon is mild, and pleasant, sweet in aroma, not in flavor. The roast is more chocolate than malt, and the char is real nice. A pleasant beer from an old favorite brewer, on a cool, quiet evening.

Getting back to a New England Brewery tonight with Tree House Vanilla Bean Space & Time. Ive been drinking a ton of northwest beers (and posting in their what beer are you drinking thread). My Washington beers stats have taken off due to NBS BIF #17. But Im definitely trying to get back to some imperial stouts and sharing with this thread too!

    onto my review:
Sampling a 16 oz can poured into my snifter. The date stamp is only Spring 2023. I picked up this beer about 8 weeks ago at the brewery. The beer pours a dark, black coffee color with no light passing through my glass. A dense creamy tan head of 3.5 cm almost overtops my glass, causing me to take an emergency sip from the foam to keep from chaos.
Aroma is dark malts with some sweet coffee, milk chocolate, hot cocoa and of course a good dose of vanilla. No hop notes on the nose and the ABV is also pretty hidden at this point of the tasting.
First sip reveals a medium body and very fine tingly carbonation that rolls across my palate with a bit of a tickle. Texture is a little sticky and does coat my palate a bit on each swallow.
Flavor mimics the aroma with some milk chocolate, a bit of roasted notes and mild sweetened coffee and a big wallop of vanilla on the finish! No hop character here either and the ABV is only noted with a bit of warmth after each swallow.
Sort of what I expected from a Tree House Stout at this point. big robust and sweet. Pretty solid beer in my opinion.
    4.25 in the BA DB

I agree their coffee based stouts are very good. Others I generally have found to be too sweet.

Brought this one back from my recent trip to Oregon.

Baerlic Beer Company - Invisible Ghost, a BBA Mexican Hot Chocolate Imperial Stout

Nice smokey dark chocolate aroma with a bit of cinnamon. The taste is similar but with just a touch of chile powder. Moderately dry finish. Full bodied, nice smooth feel.

Equilibrium Peanut Cloud Imperial Stout, 11% ABV. Aroma is really strong peanuts, chocolate, and marshmallow, then they apparently double that. I rated this 4.49.

Parabajava sounds great, and that's a cool, yet cryptic, glass.

Hubbard's Cave Peanut Butter Cup Imperial Stout, 12% ABV. I rated it 3.79. Pales in comparison to previous Hubbard's Cave pastry stouts or the Equilibrium Peanut Cloud I had earlier today.

I just stared one of the local beer stores stout shelf and saw a buncha stuff from these guys, untiles art, mortalis, drowned lands, weldwerks and Anchorage... not one local non garbage stout on the shelf. walked away with a tripel and ipa instead.

    Sad day for me

I thought about going full @Resistance88 and walking into Walgreens with this beer to get my passport renewal photograph, but I remembered I have a souffle in the oven.

Double barrel stout at $16 per 4pack. Boulevard doesn't get enough love.

The whiskey barrels are extremely subtle while the Cabernet barrels are subdued but work so well with the base stout. Jammy, vinous, chocolatey goodness.

Yummmmmmmm. Last can. Update: there’s so much coconut coming through in this, it’s actually surprising there’s no adjunct. Wow. The other cans definitely had it, but this is on another level
