If you bail on a flavorless light beer (possibly two) because someone told you to and you go back because the can is now camouflage, that tells me all I need to know.

Honestly wouldn't be surprised if this does help. Part of the success of a boycott is the social pressure to conform. If people don't instantly recognize the bright blue can in your hand, it could be hidden or misconstrued to be something else.

I think the best option is to hire Fred Durst and Dave Matthews as pitchmen.

This  right here. It is nice to come on BA and not get dragged into all the negativity. We can get that on lots of other social media. I would be willing to bet, a politically open discussion thread would only degenerate into a name calling contest.

The camouflage will look like an empty store shelf to give the appearance someone is actually buying the beer.

That's often what's occurred in the past. Some of the past politically influenced discussions have gotten pretty nasty.

Really. If all the folks on both sides of this mess burst into flames pretty sure my first and only thought would be over which fire do I put my marshmallow first?

Thanks for this. BA is the only social media I engage in so I’m really not exposed to what else is out there—and likewise this is essentially my only outlet for exchanging viewpoints and opinions with total strangers. But I will try to bear your perspective in mind going forward.

Anheuser Busch has supported the Folds of Honor charity for 13 years, as noted in this Press Release about their donation a decade ago:
(Dec. 2013) Budweiser Sales Benefit Military Families: Beer Brand Donates $1.5 Million to Folds of Honor (even having employees collect money in their individual breweries like Baldwinsville).

And the company in previous years has sold cans decorated in honor of the group.

The two sides being the marketing people at Bud Light and the consumers who are choosing not to buy their produce anymore?

Seems like an odd thing to say.

I was shopping today and saw a big display of Bud and Bud Light cases offering a $10.00 rebate off the retail price of $21.99.

I wonder why it is only $10.00?

For states/retailers which charge $19.98 the case is essentially free (if there is no sales tax).

    Cheers!

I don’t think it will. In my opinion they are done for. I know I certainly won’t be buying it. I don’t care for Bud Light anyway when it comes to flavor. I never had Budweiser and most likely never will now. It’s my dad’s favorite but he won’t get it now either. That’s just my opinion it’s too far gone to make a comeback now. Sales keep plummeting they are done for. Like I said just my opinion I could be completely wrong but I don’t think I am. I’m trying to avoid all AB products at this point but mainly those two.

This. If a thread takes a political turn and politics gives you a frowny face, then move on to a different thread.

Beer is made, distributed, sold, and consumed by people. People are governed by politics. Beer is political. Accept it. Or, if you can't, stop asking us to live in a privileged fantasy world where one can ignore politics.

It would be pretty incredible to see bud light completely fail.

What's the fastest historical collapse of a top selling national brand?

Is that your pic or from The New York Post? (The URL says it's from the UK's Daily Mail). What state was it taken in? What's the asterisk section say? That image of a pot full of food makes it appear like it might be this rebate, the "Fine Print" says one must also make a $50 purchase of food, too. Manufacturers know that a shelf tag for a rebate can sell a product even though about half are never applied for.

That's certainly true, but that doesn't mean the site should condone a political freeforall. Generally, if the conversation is at least tangentially related to some sort of beer topic and members are engaged in respectful (even if it's impassioned) discussion/conversation, then the thread won't be closed down. On the other hand, if the political conversation devolves into a one upmanship rant, that's little more than a name calling, pissing contest, at that point I think there's little point in keeping the thread open.

From what I’ve heard it’s spiraling the drain and has lost half its value since Elon Musk bought it.

I deactivated my account when the platform took a hard right turn after the Musk takeover—he made some truly irresponsible comments (ugly disinformation etc.) that I couldn’t countenance with continued participation, even if my activity there was only ever extremely minimal and completely passive. I’ve never tweeted or retweeted in my life, but I had used it very sparingly for tracking local beer releases and whatnot.
