What Beer Are You Drinking Now? #3863

Well that Zombie Ice just flew down my throat. Almost as good as Dust, and just way too drinkable. Zombie + my palate is dangerous business.

Looks easy on paper... just 10 miles. Uphill 9mi. Then, even more-uphilly... 2,000ft of gain.



I'm not exactly nervous, but I'm also not exactly in peak shape, and there's a cutoff time.

Anyhow, I've settled my internal debate whether to have a 2nd beer before dinner, and with this incredible Helles on hand that choice made itself.

The malt backbone of this beer in harmony with all the C hops make this a special IPA, at least to me.

 

New Glarus Spotted Cow (4.8%): A "Cream ale" from Wisconsin with flavors of bread malts, yeast, light fruit with a creamy finish.

Is it a cream ale or saison/farmhouse? I'd say more a cream ale. Bready, smooth, but with a complex yeast flavor that adds a touch of fruitiness. Certainly unique. I think the bottled version suffers a bit. This was much more carbonated, yeasty, and smooth from the can. Maybe this supports the canning argument for craft beer. I've not been impressed with the bottled version in the past, but this is the best of the version that I've had. From the can this can be great.

 

New Belgium Voodoo Ranger IPA, excellent brew

PGA is 3 miles from my house,,, 6 houses down the street 2 homes are rented out to PGA golfers Aaron Wise, and Makenzie Hughes….

The PGA Escalades in the driveways is a nice touch
