I saw more than one person reporting a bottle 0000 of Naturally Upset.

I think the bottle counts are not accurate

It was great meeting all of you and sharing some fun beers. @flat_lander sorry I missed you, we can try again next year unless they are pouring Donerman and you decide to go back for more.

Gotta love it, Dark Lord Variants haven't pulled $600 since maybe 2016? And even then only Handjee could pull that much.

This year they are all around $100 or less, maybe $125 tops? Bottle number mistake makes no difference, this isn't baseball cards.

For the money, it's better just to drink them all. :grimacing:

Another member of the "Sundae Thunderstorm might have been my favorite variant" club reporting for duty. Handjee was great like usual. Also loved Keyrock, and it was awesome to grab some 2019 BBA DL, that one was my groups unanimous favorite last time we attended so it was nice to revisit. Also liked the Chemtrail I had (don't remember the year) but that is just a hefty beverage. I was ready to move on after 4oz. Definitely saving the bottle I got in my allotment for a bottle share because solo doming that thing would be brutal.

The only one I tried that I didn't care for was Naturally Upset. That type of barrel just doesn't do it for me in beer.

I got a 666 handjee one year. I was seriously considering seeing if I could get a premium for the number

First DLD in awhile was pretty fun. I ended up missing out on most of the good drafts because I got slammed at a share tent before I even walked in. Managed to grab Chemtrail, Handjee and Raspberry because I slipped the person grabbing my bag a twenty. Good times.

Also, the regular and deluxe posters are up on the artist's site if you're interested:

I’m sure some of these sentiments have been echoed on here, but my rundown on the day was this:

    Pros-
    -No real lines for beer
-Guest taps had Pilsners readily available (tried to drink lighter when sharing a bunch of high ABV malts)
    -Plenty of DL variants available
-Bands were great (I go for the music as well)
-No real wait to get in (our group arrived around 1pm, so I’m sure this could’ve been different earlier in the day)
-Minimal bag checks for beer amounts.
    -Huge share area
-Lots of food options, lots of great choices for pairing with beer!
-The dude sharing pedialyte pours under the band tent

    Cons-
    - I missed sharing bottles with people while waiting in lines.
-Long food lines, seemingly the result of minimal food truck staffing for the crowd. (Not hating on the food trucks at all here, rather comparing to times when FFF had their own food, and the stations were a streamlined machine that you really didn’t have to wait in for very long)
-Long band merch line - only one guy working the table.
-Variants packed “…at random”. Our group of 7 all had group A. We arrived during Group C pickup and were sent down to the Group A area for pickup. Between the seven of us, two of us got an identical bag (Handjee, Rrari, Upset), and the other five got the same bag of variants (Sundae, Upset, Chemtrail). I would have thought out of 7 of us, we would’ve gotten at least one of each variant.

All things considered, the cons weren’t enough to ruin the day, just my observations after enjoying the day as a whole.

Super geeked to have been back at Dark Lord Day. It’s truly a national holiday for our friend group that attends, and we’ve been waiting patiently for the fest to be back on as normal.

Over the last few years, waiting in a car queue to pick up bottles on the gravel lot where a stage should be just didn’t feel as right as being in attendance with thousands of other loyalists on the day of our Dark Lord.

I was also glad to see a thank you message on social media with the words “See you next year”.

Crossing my fingers that some of the stirrings/rumors on here of the brewpub reopening are true, and already looking forward to next year. Well done and kudos to Three Floyd’s for a successful return.

Cheers to everyone who made it out and had a good time!
