Got it! I've been to Eagle River, WI and Ontonagan, MI but not long enough to get acculturated.

" OK, here’s the local scoop: when you’re born from this Upper Peninsula land, hatched from the soil, you’re considered a real “Yooper”. If you’re from someplace else, and happen to settle here, you’re somewhat suspect. And if you’re from downstate Michigan you’re likely to be called the dreaded “Berry Picker” or, worse yet, a “Troll”. (A Troll is someone from beneath the Mackinac Bridge.)"

I never wanted to be a berry picker, but when I was 12, it was the only thing that would pay cash and not check IDs. I knew I was destined to greater things, berry picker extraordinaire.

Sounds like the Northwoods equivalent of the midwestern corn detasseler. Which pays great when you're 13-14. For a grueling 2 weeks of 16 hour sweat and mud-filled days

Black note is good, very good.
But sure not worth all the hype that is being spewed here.

Up so early. Checkers, I remember that place. Fast food joint. I was thinking a diner or something. Too bad I gotta work today or I would make it a brewery tour.

Again, this is discussion not hype. Discussion about the beers availability, among other things, is being spewed here. There has been little, if any, "hyping" of the beer.

Go back to bed, and stop "cam"-ing the release!

If you want good breakfast and close to Bell's my preference is Food Dance. It's a bit pricey, but they make some good food.

As in ratcheting up the competition? It's been available for several days, I think people are more likely to think I'm nuts rather than an example to be followed. 2 bottles for 300+ miles is not a great ROI.

I hope you packed some Mules in your car for that length of drive for 2 bottles.

Does anybody know the batch number on this one? The last batch was 10136, I believe.

The bottles I have say 11620.

Was at the General Store yesterday to get some homebrew supplies, and picked up some Black Note. The guy at the register got a call, and he ran through all of the beers in the cooler for the calller, including Black Note.

Great suggestion! Tasty breakfast, right down the street from Bell's, and some decent taps (Eccentric Cafe doesn't open til 11.) The slight priciness has got nothing on a lot of the bars & restaurants in Chicago.
