Busy day today. Grocery shopping, mowing daughter's lawn, hosed the dust off the front siding (must've had a dusty northerly wind recently), cleaned front windows, and storm door. Finally time to relax with a (what alse) Miller High Life. Cheers! Tomorrow I'll finally post a different beer than this past week. It's $2 Tuesday. Won't you join me?

After 13 years, I've finally remediated my front lawn from plow damage, plow chemicals, junk fill, rocks, and asphalt.

About 60' length x 16" width x 8" depth. Replaced all that crap (~30ish wheelbarrow loads) with compost produced on-site.

Top-dressed with a mix of Scotts Lawn Soil and Organic Topsoil, mixed with Scotts Northeast Blend grass seed.

Calling the lawn project completed as of today... the new grass got its first taste of the mower blade today. Took down the rope barrier. Projecto completo!!

A few pics from along the way, and today...

One of the Stone brews I realy like. Recently our local supermarket had a rather large batch of Ruination. Used to make it a double now and then on Fridays.
    Cheers!

That's a picturesque front lawn. Mine's mostly brown now from lack of moisture. It looked like yours about a month ago. I don't water, but if this dry spell keeps up I may have to.

    Thanks! Expensive seed indeed!

Overall project not bad at all since I had several yards of nice homemade soil on hand.

I'm certain, given your recent experience, you'll appreciate that every one of those wheelbarrow loads went uphill from ~200ft away haha!

    Cheers!

Thank you! It's come a long way in recent years. I (perhaps foolishly) spend way too much time and effort working on the front not to water. Just the annual 10-12hrs of spring de-thatching with steel rake, and accompanying blisters, is not quickly forgotten over the season.

Back yard is bigger... and on its own haha! I do wish it good luck each year.

I cheat. I use TruGreen. It's the lazy man's path to a better lawn. So really, not watering is defeating the purpose of paying a lawn company.

Smog City Brewing Co. -- Infinite Wishes (2022 Raspberry Truffle)
    Bourbon-barrel aged imperial stout
ABV: ; pouring temperature: °F; bottling info: 2022
    Source: Tavour

    4.23/5 rDev -0.7%
    look: 4.5 | smell: 4.5 | taste: 4 | feel: 4.25 | overall: 4.25

Near black and opaque body; dense, khaki-colored head, thick and creamy; thin density, patchy fingers of foam cling to the glass. Outstanding blend of chocolate and raspberry notes in the smell; very well-balanced. The taste builds upon the aroma; chocolate and cocoa powder mixed with a great raspberry flavor; lightly tart berry notes; bold bourbon edge; a suggestion of earthy spiciness such as cinnamon. Heavy body; chewy; velvety; fine boozy warmth undercurrent.

Overall, a very nice barrel-aged imperial stout with a nice raspberrry flavored component. The barrel-aging is just a tad overdone and the spices could be a cut back just a bit, yet the beer still exudes depth, complexity, and appeal. I assume the 'truffle' mentioned for this variation refers to a chocolate confectionery as there is no mention of 'fungi' being used in this beer's creation.
