Dancing Gnome makes some pretty good adjunct stouts. A little high in the sweet range for me, but not over the top. Usually don’t start this early, but no work and the beer is called ‘Breakfast’

My beer tastings of new brews are fairly limited these days, since my consumption is much reduced as I get older. I have chosen a few regulars in a couple of basic styles that I can fairly reliably get. One style is bottles of basic West Coast IPA / Pale Ale. I had settled on Harpoon IPA as my favorite (sometimes I have to look around for fresh product). I also like Sierra Nevada Pale Ale SNPA which is more prominent in the local area. I did a blind tasting with my wife and son. The two brews are similar, but the unanimous verdict was for Harpoon. Both have a nice malt body an agreeable hop bitterness. But noticeably, the hop flavor of Harpoon was more pronounced and pleasant in the aftertaste. One thing to note is that my 1990s impression SNPA was that it was slightly more "dry", and less suited to my palate than some of the alternatives that I was familiar with (Pyramid Pale, Grant's Scottish, . . .).

Putting my rating in on this one. This one was more danky/green than I anticipated and I dig that. Not to much to the point where it's out of balance. Sadly it's my last 1, I enjoyed every single can/bottle even the 3 month bottles. A very well crafted NEIPA imo. Can't wait to get more and have it on tap at the source.

Hoping on the train asap to hit Celestial soon as they open today if the weather permits it.

    Cheers y'all!

Good morning BAs! I’m cleaned up, and packing RV underway…taking a coffee break - King Omar Imperial Porter by Crane Brewing Co., Raytown, MO:

No canning date. Purchased at brewery 5/16/23. Poured at 56°. Strong coffee nose/taste. An excellent coffee porter.

Beautiful day here, sunny and already in the low 70s. I’ll finish stowing my gear then head down to Deadwood. Have a great day y’all and Cheers from Spearfish, SD!

    Buenas tardes, amigos!

Why am I (trying) to speak Spanish, you ask?

We arrived earlier today on a Spanish island… not Ibiza. Somewhere else and to be totally honest with you it’s not quite sunny yet albeit mild.

And I am drinking this fine Märzenbier “Voll-Damm”.

I'll definitely be grabbing more of this today, is freshly canned. Is a nice change from the haze chasing. Hoppy, crisp and super clean. I love Celestial, can't miss.

    Cheers y'all!

Hello BAs! Thanks @DavyJonesXXX for 3883 today. Well done sire! Ya know whay? It's lawn choppin' day! Hot n dry but I've been watering trees and some of the lawn gets a bit of benign patchy watering and were good. I'm already saying that locally we're in a drought. Anyhoo, Barrel Theory Shooter McGavin DIPA is the juice I need now as I'm 1/2way done. Just the back or as I call it "The Odd" is all that's left. Great to be here again, as always. Cheers everyone!

The best place I've found for grocery shopping is the little ma and pa Asian grocer behind my place. Every item has a price sticker manually placed and there is no scanner - the most advanced technology is the manual cash register, where he has to key in prices for each item. I love it!

He works 6 days a week, and his wife works along side him in the take-out only deli. She speaks almost no English, but he is bilingual and a lot of fun to be around. Best banh mi sandwiches and where else can I get raw dog bones for $1.50/lb instead of $5 everywhere else?

    Anyway, a delicious Coors Banquet

Good morning, all! I'm starting the day with Cincinnati's Favorite Beer, Wiedemann's Bohemian Pilsner. This is one of the breweries I remember from my younger days. I picked up a sixer of this in Ohio last week to share with a couple of fellow BA's here, since I'm pretty sure they've never heard of Wiedemann's and they enjoy trying the beers I find on my travels. I'll usually try to pick up a beer or two from my youth (Schoenling Little Kings, Bürger, Stroh's, Hudy) when I go back to Ohio. This one here is pretty good, probably an old recipe resurrected. Light, grainy, grassy, a tad bitter, crisp, and refreshing. Cheers!
