Quite warm and sticky here in Germany. Trying to cool down with Wernesgrüner Pils

I just had my first from that brewery. I'm all on board. Since they know how to do a Vienna Lager correctly, they've got to be good!

Had the day off today but this is my first beer. Got some arrabbiata sauce simmering on the stove with some tasty hot sausage for dinner with some angel hair.

I went to Home Depot today and picked up some Behr paint for my porch so hopefully the weather is cooperative this weekend so I can at least get the front porch painted. I did some scraping earlier today so part way there. Also picked up a couple bags of Traeger wood pellets for the smoking tube I bought - Apple and Hickory, two of my favorites. Hopefully I'll get to try that out over the weekend as well.

Very cool to hear. I keep passing that one up as I've never had a Vienna I really loved, but should probably grab it in the spirit of this whole advocacy thing haha.




They hooked me up with a super soft hoodie at a local tap takeover despite me telling them I wasn't even drinking their beers as they didn't bring what I was interested in haha. Cheers!

 

I love Vienna Lager but it is damn hard to find a brewery that will do an original/classic one. Most do what I call the North American version - either no Vienna malt or they add to much of additional malts to the Vienna. It's a wonderful beer style with an interesting history to boot. The same store I bought the Volksgarten at also has the Alexandr Czech Lager. I'll be grabbing some of that too! Love the hoodie btw!

Lol! Sorry I had to "twist you arm" there! Don't worry about variance. BAs tend to unrrate lagers anyway. The very idea there are very few world class lagers is silly. Rate it for how you think it should be! Cheers!

 

Believe it or not, but Juneteenth has always been a day of remembrance and commemoration around here, it did originate in Galveston after all. Anyway, not that I really do anything, but always spin some important social/political music. I guess that is my remembrance.
