    Well, that made me laugh. So one of my kids asked "What's so funny?" and then I had to contemplate explaining the entire thing to him. So now the joke's on me.

    Mexican brewers, and a few Americans, have been using leaf cutter ants, colloquially known as Chicatanas, in dark beers for some time. As beer evolves and we get away from the restrictive Reinheitsgebot, new fermented beverages and local
    “Beer” traditions are being uncovered regularly. This is both progress and history. Cheers and pass me a taste of what you’re making!

    A quick google yielded an article that Forager did one…I stopped reading after seeing it was barrel aged and that there were 5lbs of ground flying ants in each barrel…because of course ants aren’t extreme enough on their own in beer.
