Bottled October of last year -- see Post #14 above.
I always buy my Spaten direct from a closed case or far back of the shelf -- this six-pack was procured no differently. BA veteran experience at work.

My place has a few locals, half a case of Ayinger 4-packs, and probably half a case of the Ayinger half-liters left over from last year -- and yeah, I wonder why they're not discounted. It will be interesting to see what they do with those when the new batches roll in.

I wonder if the Weihenstephaner will come to MN early as well. That is one that I am fine drinking in summer temps.

So, interestingly enough. I was recently on the Ayinger website and they are no longer listing the Oktoberfest Marzen on their English language site. I simply can't believe that they discontinued it, but I'm now really anxious to see if we are going to get a 2023 batch in the US.

We should be seeing it. I had to have preorders for Ayinger Oktoberfest (4pks and 16.9oz) to my distributor on February 10th and just now had their people confirm that I can get more to fill some special orders.

Rahr & Sons Oktoberfest (Fort Worth) looks like it won't be available until August after coming out in the 3rd week of July for the previous 5 years. Seems a lot of the local breweries are moving off of the earlier fall seasonals post-peak of COVID.

My Manhattan Project guy tells me they are more than doubling production on their Oktober this year. They blew through it so fast last year, they had no idea. I more than doubled my order for this year, on the list early. Probably won't last more than a few weeks this time, either. Alstadt landed mid-August last year, as did Rahr.

Yeah, Pumking holds up really well over time. I think the oldest I had was like 18 months old and it was perfectly fine

Same here re. the Weihenstephaner Festbier. I tend to have it on a summer evening, but it is fine for summer temps.

I wouldn't worry about it. Ayinger hasn't listed their Marzen for a little while but it could be found in the US. As a matter of fact, it may be brewed only for export.

[IMG] I think this is the first one to arrive in my area! I had heard someone mention before, that Warsteiner Oktoberfest was available year round, but it only shows up in my area in the fall.

Sorry, always the skeptic -- but did you double-check dates?

That's great news, it's a fantastic beer and easily the best of the locals.

Some of those spiced beers actually improve with some age on them.
The spices mellow out a bit, so I'm not against getting a few "old" holiday beers to drink by a campfire.
Nothing wrong with that as far as I'm concerned.
