Sound like a great agenda for beer touring. A couple of friends and i are heading up to Sierra Nevada late Friday afternoon for the 5:00 Brewery tour, some dinner and beers after, and then to the High Gravity room to see Aaron Lee Tasjan. Never heard of him but like the sample i heard earlier. Enjoy your time in my little slice of heaven!

Hey Dave, i will need to see if one of my locals have Rigor Mortis available. Want to say i have seen it but if i remember correctly this was a pretty nice brew back 10+ years ago. Heading to Vermont in about a week or so and tentatively have a side trip up to Montreal in mind, may need to go to the source!
Great choice on the music as well, my all-time favorite Who album. Read Pete's book that covered among other things the making of Quadrophenia which i found interesting and very intense for the band but great for the listener.

Onto round 1 for the day, the last of my friend's Haw River haul from December; Uncommon Grind, a DIPA infused with rum-barrel aged coffee beans that were roasted and brewed with. This was my favorite of the haul, would have again in a heartbeat!
Back into Sirius XM with the road trip coming and streaming and mapping being too intense for our phones. Listening to Lithium Just Music and a favorite from Soul Asylum.
    Cheers!
    Tom

Wish I was listening to my copy of the new World Peace album but it got delivered yesterday afternoon via USPS and my mailbox is 200F degrees inside and warped it. Got out the kitchen torch and some clamps so we'll see how it goes

I love seeing how our impressions change through time! I just picked up one of these (from the same batch) and I'm excited to try it. Cheers!

@Resistance88 Tomas, if i remember correctly you work contractually for the production company, glad to see you are still drinking on the job!

Onto round 2 and staying in the old school DIPA mode with a little beer from Bell's. I find this still to be smackable.
Listening to SXM and hearing probably the only Butthole Surfers song i know. It has a vibe to it that just hits in a nice way.
    Cheers!

Casey Brewing & Blending and Barrel Cellar -- 100% Nelson

Translucent banana yellow body topped with a thick white and lasting head; thick, spongy rings and sheets of foam circle the glass. Blast of tropical fruit; banana and papaya. Fruit smoothie flavor; banana and grapefruit, grape must; phenol bitterness; biscuit-like oat flavor. Medium-heavy body; rich and velvety; juicy with a dry finish.

A very good single-hop hazy India pale ale with fantastic eye appeal and rich textures on the palate.

Totally understandable. That is why i moved to Western NC after 35 years in PHX. Lay low inside until Halloween!

    1) Toppling Goliath Places I’ve Been (7.8% canned 6/12/23):
A NEIPA from Iowa with Simcoe, Strata and Cashmere for flavors of orange, sweet cantaloupe, fruit punch. Tropical, sticky with a piney bitterness.
    versus
    2) Toppling Goliath Haze Bus (7.8% canned 4/24/23): A NEIPA from Toppling Goliath with Simcoe, Mosaic, and Citra for flavors of orange zest & flower, pineapple, mango, light herbal/pine notes. Balanced. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

    Winner:
    2) TG Haze Bus:
Toppling Goliath NEIPA battle. Did this one a few weeks back. Revisiting the two as Place I've been has had some time to settle out. Approaching 6 weeks and now losing it's hop biting lending it a touch too sweet and malty. Starting to get that sweet cantaloupe and fruit punch flavor. Haze Bus is still drinking extremely well, maintaining it's flavor complexity at three months out.

Somehow this beer found it's way to the front of the shelves, and it's about a year old at this point. It's actually not bad, not as good as fresh but not a drain pour.

...I do like the brewery, just don't buy many of their beers, but I am glad I revisited this particular one...my primary beer emporium has about five or six cans of their beer that I haven't tried, so I may explore those in due order...
