Only ever tried 1 stout from them, maybe I should change that. Glad you're diggin it, the extended barrel time sounds awesome.

Dafuq? Why are you kicking me out?? I like it here.:astonished: Sometimes.:stuck_out_tongue:

Champion Ground was great at least. You should try Mother of all Bricks if you can, it's not real sweet.

Having a very good morning here, Cafe Deth 2020 is on point.

A few sentences offered in the Cellar Review Thread. Long story short, the excess sweetness I found in the 2019 version a few weeks ago is not present here. Just glorious dark roast coffee, nice oak barrel, Mike Tyson like punch out strength, just what I was seeking to get my final couple hours of sleep for a full 7-8 before resuming the day.

You'd love this one @Resistance88 , and unlike Willettized the coffee is front and center. not in the alley smoking a cigarette and hoping not to be seen.

Just relaxing today after three solid days of running around and enjoying our overlook from on top of the ski hill. Thought i would jump on an RIS from The Alchemist that was only $13/four-pack. This is very nice, hits the style perfectly with the heavy roast and hopping and almost sessionable at 9.2%. Overall rated it a 4.25. I think i will have another!
    Cheers from Western NY,
    Tom

LOL! Yes, the vanilla rye was one of the not-exactly-your-preference, but maybe it would work. The Ol’ Stumpy Boi is the other. That Thin Man is the one I think you should let sit in a glass at least 30 minutes before tasting it… very “wet” barrel wood type IMO that needs air. $0.02.

Finally found it locally. I think I come in the middle with this- it started out with way too much blueberry but that faded as it warmed and it became nuanced. Can’t say it’s better or worse than Lizard of Koz, but it is pretty good. Not sweet, yet definitely blueberry.

So next year: double-digit ABV imperial stout appreciation. I’m good with that. Sub-10 for me is like a spritzer.

IMHO I think the chocolate syrup has much more influence than anything in pushing the blueberry flavor up, then pulling it back into a dark chocolate dessert base. It wasn’t cloyingly sweet to me, but it really wants to push the boundary.
