    Weird, they're 9.99 online.

Surprised that the Tavour price is $11.99. I figured their markups were crazy, considering most stouts/barleywines are rarely under $20

I’ve got four more bottles of AD from way back. Still quite good, though carbonation isn’t quite where I’d like it. Cheers!

A fresh bottle of AD was one of my favorites. Right up there with MoaS and Sucaba. It's been quite a while since I had one, but I remember not enjoying it as much with age. Cheers!

Imagine, if you will, a man sitting on his deck on a cool and sunny Summer afternoon, reading this thread four days too late…

Yeah, in retrospect I probably should have enjoyed these sooner. C’est la vie. MOAS is still something of a benchmark for me in terms of English barleywines, but sadly I drank my last bottle a long time ago. I might need to prioritize getting more next time it comes out, I’ve been gradually drinking down my cellar/beer fridge for years and haven’t gone out of my way to add to it in a long time.

Totally agree about MOAS. Kudos to you for not adding to your cellar in a long time. I wish I could do the same. #goals.

Ok finally i can contribute to this thread with a high end BW! My favorite glass is packed up for the move, but this will do.

Honestly I think this is better than 6K. Slightly less sweet, but I had 6K after over a year in the bottle, so it was probably on par with this when fresh. I had the 2023 BCBBW a month or so ago and this has much more fig, jam, dark fruit presence. Almost like a bramble. I actually think this might be a notch higher because it has almost no heat, unlike the bcbbw. This might change as it warms. I think it might come off sweeter at room temperature. Either way, this is fantastic

Tired of failing? Stop trying like me! 2 deliveries next week:money_mouth:
Nice! Very excited to try this soon. I think the 3k I had not long ago was on par with 5k and 6k, so I do see aging potential with these.

A day late but here I am with Virtue of Patience courtesy of @CarolinaCardinals , looking forward to reading the reviews of him and @Beersnake1 !

I was expecting something big and confrontational based on the brewery name Burial with all of their ominously named stouts, but this is really very lovely, subtle and refined. Reminds me a bit of the Sucaba from the other night. Tom did you send one these to @Resistance88 ?

Having this at cellar temperature. There is plenty of raisin and caramel but there just isn't a lot of sweetness to them. I'm getting an oatmeal raisin cookie and lightly spiced fig cake vibe. The barrel notes are warm, not hot, adding woody vanilla and soft bourbon. Really top notch, thanks so much for this Tom!

Checked your reviews after mine, nicely done guys! Looks like all of our impressions were similar.

I doubt he'd want to offend me like that!

He did, however, send me That Which Hides Behind Our Dread from Burial and it was enjoyable

JW Lees Harvest Ale. My favorite barley wine in the world. Almost free of BS... they had to go and put bad words on the label ("limited edition"). Not that cask aged stuff. Not that canned in CT stuff. And none of that Barleywine-style Ale or wax-dipped stuff. As good as those can be, this is barley wine. It's a fluke the world still has this, and we are slightly richer for it. Cheers.

According to the bottle this is about 6 years old. I had one recently that I think was the same but from 2022 (though it said ‘Grand classique’) and my mouth did not have a fantastic time. This however is doing just fine. I now notice the label on the newer one does not indicate that it ages well. Turning my inference machine to 11.

Some breweries always seem to get things right...I haven't had a lot of Jackie O's but what I've had are outstanding...This brew is really smooth, subtle bourbon, classic BW flavor...this isn't a sipper...i don't think it will last long

Barleywine is by far my favorite style and despite being fully drunk in Iceland I just inquired as to the price of the 750ml side project evil twin barrel Aged English BW collab I just espied rather randomly - when it came
    Back at 90 usd I had to move on though;
