[IMG] “Farmer’s Daughter “ Belgian Style Saison “ from The Alchemist! My coworker gave me this last year from his trip to Vermont. I didn’t like it that much then, but it has seemed to have “matured “! Quite crisp and pungent!

    In these spaces, Florence fulfills
2015 version, all the attributes in place.
A bit dusty on the nose, sharp on the palate,

I picked up a four-pack for a friend and i when recently visiting The Alchemist but i have not cracked a can of this yet due to the other wonderful goodness i bought there! Can you tell us if the yeast was pure Saison, or mixed fermentation with some Brett, or something different? I am not sure if i will be able to sample some before we depart the ski hill in Western NY Friday morning or Lord only knows when i will get to it when i get back home with 200 plus beers waiting in the wings in my beer fridge LOL!
    Cheers!

Lemon, clove, banana, mild orange peel...and a fantastic, creamy mouthfeel. Nice!

    Well-loved proper glassware included.

Mo's Saison from Atwood Farm Brewery in the far northwest cornet of Washington. It’s their changing Saison with their own hops and some herbal flavorings.

Going through my saisons before they are out of season. This and Apex Predator are my favorites locally.

    Fantôme Blondinette de Printemps
“A spring-inspired blonde made with pilsen malt, unmalted wheat grains, and Saaz, then dry-hopped with Citra and Eukanot. Brewed with nutmeg, lemon peel, bitter orange, and a bit of star anise and cinnamon.”

Saturated egg yolk orange, foggy clarity, a dollop of meringue whip on top. Lasting lace all around the glass, like the interior foam crater after a huge bubble pops in a car wash. Boom, suds everywhere.

Aroma is floral with a little phenolic pepper, yeast driven and a load of fresh cut botanicals on the back end.

Dried nectarine, hints of creamy banana-like pawpaw fruit, resiny green hops that linger into the bitter aftertaste. Floral and phenolic yeast, peppery.

Medium bodied with a smooth texture, effervescent carb. So easy drinking. Glad I picked this one up, and will continue seeking out Fantôme til the end of my days. #DANYP4LIFE

I was going to respond in a similar fashion, asking what he means by "out of season" but there is irony here since Saison translates to season so...

On a related note in a couple/few days I will be brewing my annual batch of Saison which I brew every August. I still have a few bottles left from last year's batch. Does this mean I have a season here!?!

    Cheers!

Part of it was a play on words, but in all seriousness, I enjoy many beer styles best in specific weather. I enjoy Saisons best on a warm Sunny day. Fruit, Lambic / Gueuze, and wheat beers are the other styles I target for Summer enjoyment.

Styles I enjoy year round are English Bitters, Pale Ales / IPAs, Kolsch and Pilsners.

Saison week continues with one too hoppy for my preferences fresh, but tasting mellow and nice with a more Saison like hoppy balance that I'm really enjoying now that it just over a year in aging refrigerated.

Have one more on hand to enjoy before Labour Day. May pick up Lucia if I'm ambitious this week.

Ale Apothecary Slayzon: Saison inspired ale aged in oak. Amazing depth of flavor. Still a ton of saison yeast characteristics up front. Soft oak tannins, balanced acidity, really well done.

Fortunate we have several solid brewers of saisons in Chicago, but this one has been my go to the longest.

    Cheers!
