I'd love to try this. I was recently in York and visited the Phoenix. We enjoyed the Timothy Taylor's Landlord. In fact, that's what I have whenever I've gone there.

More relaxed and more at ease per the lessened degrees on acerbity, by evaporation/oxidation: Teresa’s is – on the face of it – handling/upholding these casks appropriately, which plays a significant role (e.g. bacteria/bugs are being managed via the publican) …a piston-pull outtake, for those interested - Granted, this topic is a thread exception, which has been articulated…The Referend is the most affluent in articulating this exception in the Mid-Atlantic/on the East Coast, providing the stillness & the engaged microorganisms
Another issue is that the judges' palates are probably different from the commenters'. And the first few BA reviews of the cask seem fairly positive too. I know my palate has shifted over the years, to some extent following the trend toward paler, hoppier beers. Maybe a tempest in a teapot (or a mash tun)?

Nice to see Yards ESA out the in wild. In my first few years of beer drinking, that was the beer most often featured by places that would tap a cask on a Friday night. Now it's a rarity to see, but Yards recently announced on social media they are going to can ESA again for a Fall/Winter variety pack
Yards started to incorporate this into the schedule more frequently post the ‘2022 Real Ale Invitational’ via Cask through local establishments: The Standard Tap, Teresa’s, Dandelion (arguably unrivaled per handling) + Onsite @ Yards… …most folks (e.g. visitors, tourists) looking for cask in the area are directed towards F&M, which is appropriate & rightfully so. Nevertheless, will usually toss in…
Now that its jogging my memory, I did have a pint of ESA last Fall from the beer engine at Varga Bar in Philly. I found the post https://www.beeradvocate.com/commun...rinking-now-2022.664092/page-287#post-7667940
Back in the day I drank a lot of cask ESA (plus other Yards cask beers) at Dawsons Street Pub in Manayunk; they had 3 beer engines going. In the early days of Yards there was the 'local connection' since they brewed their beer in the very small brewery on Umbria Street. Cheers!
