Saw in paper today that LowDown Brewery + Kitchen is closing. Developer wanted the site, owners of brewery not sure of continued profitability, and other things so they decided to end it after 9 years, going out "on top" as they put it. Have never been; might have to get there before they close next month.

Great, another apartment building with one-bedrooms probably going for $1,500, just what the city needs.

Lowdown always had solid beer and food. Sad to see them go but glad to see that the owners seemed happy with their decision.

Although in this case it seems like everyone was pleased with how things worked out, I’m really starting to believe the city needs to do something about rising rent costs and development around here.

This city is going to be uninhabitable for most working people pretty soon, if it isn’t already.

I only went there a few times, but really enjoyed the beers and the food, too. At the very least it doesn't sound like they were hemorrhaging money or dying a slow death.
It's interesting how the suburban scene has changed vs. Denver proper. RiNo and Tennyson adjacent are thriving, but most of the other former hotspots are doing the exact opposite. Not sure why you'd want to share walls with people in one of those super pricey condos when the businesses around you are closing.

$1,500? You crazy. At least $2,200 with no parking and a "wood" flooring over carpet.

For real. Rent and house prices went absolutely insane after COVID, and it doesn't seem like they're returning back to normal any time soon. Sucks that the city is becoming so unaffordable for working folks.

Yep; the Mrs and I feel "lucky" with a 51 year old ranch that cost us "only" $445k in fall of '20 in Arvada. We could sell it now for about $560k-$600k with what we added to it. I couldn't qualify for the house on my salary alone. SMH
