    Great Heights Oktoberfest is back...one of my favorite local versions. It is still 95 degrees out, which is a "cold front" don't ya know ha.

    It is Tuesday, you know what that means...$2 Old Fashioned at Johnny's Gold Brick.

    Since David James Duncan's novel, Sun House was such pseudo philosophy and just nonsense, and above all boring, I had to start re reading this great book, to remember what a philosophical novel is like. Duncan's novel was trying so hard to be just this, but yeah, that was just not happening. Already almost 100 pages into this again, and remembered all over again why its such a great book.

    Then on to Gatlin's Fin & Feathers. A great local spot that does chicken and seafood. They also have the best BBQ place in Houston. Though I tend to come here more often. Way more chill. Another Great Heights Oktoberfest. With their Jerked Chicken, red beans and rice, plantains, and cabbage. This is excellent.
