I hope this finds its way to NJ...I didn't see the rotbier in our state, grabbed it while on vacation. Did you see the rotbier up by where you live?

Distribution seemed a bit rarer in NJ, which will likely be the case here. So…Manhattan

Does any of their beer make it to CT anymore?

Sounds great! Hopefully I actually see this one around here. I don't think the Rotbier ever made it to Denver, but I spotted some that will hopefully (fingers crossed) still be available while I'm on a trip next week.

That is where I’ve had the most success finding their beer, visiting family.

The German tank beers are all canned in Connecticut. Someone else will know but I’m pretty sure they also import all their bottles too…B. United that is, on both points.

Someone feel free to correct if I’m wrong hwrw.

    GIMME.

I haven't seen a change in distro. AFAIK we still get it, but I haven't gone beer shopping in a while, so I could be wrong.

yea that is what I said, “import all their bottles”

I just wasn’t sure if maybe for some odd reason some other importer did so. Don’t know how that would be possible but wasn’t positive either.

Just by chance, I'm soon in Bamberg, will try both of the new Schlenkerla beers.

It's always fun to try a new Schlenkerla beer, but I can't say that I'm 100% happy about this. In my area, bottles of the Märzen, Helles and Urbock seem to sit on the shelf for a very long time. Stores are usually unwilling to special order anything unless you'll buy at least a case because the consumer demand isn't there. It feels like these new recipes are mainly a way to generate a little (unhealthy) interest in the market. With the Weichsel, it seemed like I was in the clear minority, but that beer didn't feel like it was up to their standards for me. When was the last time anybody saw their Kräusen out in the wild? Is this what the market will be like for Schlenkerla? Something is certainly better than nothing though. I am definitely looking forward to trying this beer, but from a consumer perspective, packaging dates on bottles of Marzen would be a much more welcome change than cans and new recipes. Yeah, I know how silly (or whiny) this sounds. To temper my downerisms, I will say that I am a happier person due to their export of their Fastenbier. (Now if only we still got bottles of it...).

Likewise. The wife and I will be there in early December. A visit to the brewery is at the top of our list of things to do while in Bamberg. I'm pretty excited about it.
