I don’t know, but it doesn’t look like they are making any exterior alterations so I highly doubt they are doing that…I also believe that plan included an expanded production brewery, but that became no longer necessary once they put it at their 2nd site (former Whole Foods distro warehouse). I can’t see them doing that big plan unless they decide to go national and can’t expand at the 2nd site.

Yeah, I can confirm that the pub will be in the same footprint, no expansion and no hobbit holes. Just a gut renovation.

ALERT: Crushing Mass 4pks at Binny's for $27.99.
...and it's fantastic for the 3rd year in a row...:sunglasses:

*I'll be stopping at Woodman's to see if it's $19.99 like last year.

On a scale of 1 to Greatest Teachable Moments, how angry are the former brewpub investors?

I mean, hopefully they should have recouped their investment plus over the years. Add in investors DLD or other perks and I suspect they did okay, but would be great to hear from investors if n ot the case.

Back when they closed the brewpub, I heard the investors had not received any profits for about 2 years prior. And their final payout when they "permanently" closed the brewpub was some dark lord bottles.

What did they receive in the previous 13+ years?

I'm sure it was worth it from a beer club sort of way, but obviously it was not like they got retirement money here.

Local Winking Lizard restaurants all throughout Northeastern Ohio had DL variants tonight like nothing I've ever seen outside of Chicagoland, Indiana or beer fests, and it was pretty glorious. Happy 9/11 y'all.

They've done a great job at keep brewpub info closed lip. Same with the distillery. They're clearly doing well with expanded distro and change in format to local distro (4 pack BA beers galore plus packaged one offs for fun).

More than a tear will be shed if we can have a beer and dinner at the OG location again

    Crushing Mass is *great again*

Stouts don't appetize me as they once did, but a really good beer.

I was there back in the day when they rolled up the overhead door to the warehouse, and you could buy a $3 Pride and Joy or Alpha King from a modified old school refrigerator with three tap handles. In a red Dixie cup, of course.

That was when they were starting the idea to build out the brewpub, and were looking for investors. I declined, because what kind of brewpub / restaurant would succeed on a back street with no vehicle traffic and no visibility? What I didn't know was a lot.

Anyway, for a while there, investors were getting dividend checks every quarter, I believe, and they were for maybe a couple hundred-ish? I don't know if they ever were made whole on their initial investment, or actually made a few bucks, though, before the dividends slowed or stopped all together.

Investors did get a free beer every day they were in the pub, and got free entry to DLD and the anniversary parties, etc, although their special tent etc. wasn't really special.

I have a few friends who did invest, and they are pretty sour on the whole thing. But to a man (err, person these days?), they will line up to go back in and sit at the bar once it reopens.

Anyone seen Broo Doo yet? I've somehow never tried it, and I've been looking for dependable wet-hopped beers for this time of year.

I saw it posted on their social media channels that it should be arriving at select retailers soon. IMO, it is very good. Better than nearly all wet hop IPAs I’ve had, which I typically find underwhelming.

I'm actually specifically asking because this was made clear to me last year when I asked about wet hop beers, lol.
