In the ‘70s my favorite beer was Lowenbrau Oktoberfest. Then Miller bought the rights and began brewing it in the U.S. and that was the end of that.

The one I bought is from Germany. Haven't had anything from Löwenbräu in ages, so I'm kind of looking forward to it.

Crystal clear, light amber body; decent carbonation; thick, white head, fluffy and lasting. Low-key malt nose; light cereal grain with a gentle caramel note. The taste presents a lightly sweet and toasty flavor; mild caramel; mild hop bitterness; well-hidden alcohol presence. Medium-light body; crisp; soft dryness offsetting the lightly sticky residual sugars.

A nice, well-rounded festbier, balanced and easy drinking.

...I completely forgot about the BA online Oktoberfest tasting, but a quick stop to my favorite beer emporium has resulted in a nice German and American fest beers...this is the first of five for the next few weeks (and likely additional beers will show up)...

That beer looks oddly dark in your pic.

...I'm sure the shaded room contributed to that...held up to the light I saw light amber (while @JackHorzempa recalls the beers as golden)...any way, I make no claim that my photo reflects the 'true' color of the beer...

Not my first time with this beer. Restrained, fruity, and a bit of bitterness. Nice.

I should represent for a newer local brewery, located a chicken out of a cannon east of Lambeau Field. It has very pleasant caramel and brown bread flavors. I plan to drink this beer every year.

Aaaaaand…I’m in the game! Starting with this personal de rigueur festbier from Hofbräu. I always include this among a mix of imports and domestics for the festival (and beyond). Hasn’t let me down yet.

Disappointing this year. Thin and a bit of a vegetable taste. I've always enjoyed their draught beer but the packaged product is a roll of the dice. Might be a good reason to go have this at their taproom.

A solid Festbier style from this Atlanta brewery. Made with Pilsner, Melanoidin and Munich malts. Magnum, Spalter Select & Saphir hops. Bready and toasty malt. Spicy and herbal hops. Restrained bitterness. A tad warming. Nice dry finish.
If you ever find yourself in Atlanta, Bold Monk is a must stop. Prost BAs!

Clean, easy-drinking. Just a hint of hops. This year is the first time having this (bought a 4-pack in August) and really glad I tried it.

I'll join @zid with the ZG here on this blustery "tropical storm" day, as the sun pokes out.

    Very enjoyable offering.

Had this on tap yesterday, and found it surprisingly bitter at first. As I mentioned in my first post, it and the other Festbiers I’ve had all seemed this way to me when cold from the can/tap. Not sure why. Tucher’s stayed on the bitter side for me throughout, though it stands as a singular tasting experience, so more research is likely called for

New Festbier for me this year, and it delivers! Bready and a bit crackery with notes of toast, wheat dough and some hints of citrus and rye. Moderate bitterness, smooth and drinkable.
