I understand the finite number of boxes to sell, but I don’t see why they can’t put up a second sale for members who missed the box set to buy just the set of bottles. Not sure how much work that would require to ensure no double purchases, but would give everyone a chance to at least buy the bottles

 

It seems silly to think they only made the number of boxes that they sold so far to LC. I’d be shocked if they don’t tell more. Either online, or in person.

If they DID only make that many, it’s pretty bizarre to not make enough for LC members of the plan is to offer it to LC members.

 

These bottles are for their 10th anniversary party, it is a bonus to offer a set to us. And I prefer having even the chance to score a set over having all the bottles released through the garage sales. I am sure if they could have justified offering one to each LC member they would have. I trust there will be plenty of amazing exclusive to LC bottles in the future.

some great beers but that’s spread out over 3+ years of releases.

 

Pretty simple solution would be throw up extra sets without the box to cover the rest of LC. Or initially they could have offered a mix of but again the total number of both matching LC.

 

I wish I could have paid less and not had the box, especially if it meant everyone could have a shot at them

 

they can’t do that because they know no one would want the box option that costs probably 50 bucks more. They should’ve just not done the box. Period. All they need is 1 box for their pretty insta pics and mailers, not sure why they felt anyone would want to pay for that box, especially in this economic climate. Anyway that’s enough negativity from me for the day. Cheers BA

 

Haha. Yeah, the box is the deal breaker in this economic climate. Not the $250+ for 50 oz of beer.

Not complaining about pricing. I always feel that if you don’t like the price, can’t afford it, then don’t buy it, but the statement struck me funny.

 

never did I say the box was a deal breaker but it would be preferred to save that 50 and spend it on a beer at the brewery. Glad I could give ya laugh

 

GIven the option, i would probably fall into this category too - I wonder how much more that Voodoo Very Old box set was than if it was just the beer - it's nice looking and all, but after consuming the beverages, i don't know what I'm supposed to do with that box. It just sits in my garage. Given the same price? I'll take the box - for an extra $50? Give me an extra bottle of something.

 

The box is cool for a picture and nothing more. It's a pain to ship, and where are you displaying it in your house? Doesn't make sense.

That box is dope. My sense is this is Side Project sticking to its roots and supporting local companies like BTR woodwork. I think we forget that Side Project is not a big box chain and they are trying to do their best for their customers and business while staying true to their roots and supporting local.

 

Honestly, I’m OK with this type of behaviour if that is the sole purpose. But if it is, I don’t want there to be markup built into the price SP sells this for, for including the box. Right? Because, it’s no longer a good deed if you’re using this as a way to increase your bottom line. Then, instead of the intention being to support a small, local business, the point is that it was a way for you to make an extra buck, when maybe 1% of the buyers actually want to pay for it. And, if the point is to support them, it seems like you’d do some “free marketing” for them along with this.

 

Completely off my head so probably wrong on some but - MJK, OG DB Anab, Parfait 4, Nitro CSV, Oude Ferm's, Oude La Ruche, TWCP Continuance (other than TWCP club), Tete v18, Scribe b2(?).

 

Pardon my ignorance, but is LC a paid membership group or simply by invitation only?

 

The evolution of this thread from complaining about package prices and being mad that Coterie got to buy beers individually into "Coterie members are getting screwed and don't get anything special anyway" and anger over everyone not being able to buy the most expensive package they have ever released is really something.

 

Not really anything new.

 

Can't get to 100 pages of discussion each year without some good old fashioned controversy.
