A beer has risen from the dead at Revolution. Perhaps not imperial at 7.8% (not sure of the cut off) but close.

    Revolution Rise

    Brewpub / Untapped Notes:
$8 plus tax 13 oz tulip glass draft pour, 7.8% ABV, 55 IBU.

Appearance: Pitch black base, creamy tan head lingers a few minutes before leaving a thin cover over the glass. 4.25

    Aroma:
Roast malt, milk chocolate, pine. Light in strength, enjoying. 3.75

    Taste:
Consistent with aroma, milk chocolate leads, toffee and caramel. Not getting the pine or hops aromas taste wise at first, but then the hops flavors and presence arrive, old school pine. 4.25

    Mouthfeel:
Dry and slightly bitter, sweetness balanced out as this warms. Drinks lighter at first, than matching the listed strength but that could be my long absence without food. Malt caramel lingers nicely. 4.5

    Overall:
Came here after Guinness not serving draft stouts, and happy with the result. This was sold in bombers a decade ago, and was brought back to the taproom and brewpub for the first time I can recall. Overall this is a solid stout, boardering on imperial strengthwise, and one I will gladly order down the road. 4.25

Brother Metabolism is your best friend as i lost him in the mid 2010's and it took retirement in 2018 to regain it, lose weight, and get back to consuming what i want to food and beer wise. Just need to work out most days of the week with the occasional off and cheat day. Calorie counting apps are a big help with "beer hole" management as it keeps you honest if you are ticking what you are consuming on a daily basis. With that said, i will need to be on the calorie deficit side after just returning from two weeks in Italy consuming pasta, bread, and wine and some macro Euro-beers as part of my 3 square meals a day plan. Had a blast though!
    Cheers!

Char, leather, oak, little cardboard oxidation, little coconut, cocoa powder. This beer is kind of a mystery to me. I never see anyone posting it. Used to be on the shelves here more and would just turd away. Now that I actually tried it a year or so ago and liked it, it’s scarcely available!

Matryoshka from Fort George in Astoria, OR. Imperial stout aged in bourbon barrels. Comes in at 14% ABV. Taste is fantastic. Definitely a bunch of chocolate and milk, along with some bourbon and dark fruit. The bourbon is not dominant at all. A bit of black licorice and nuts as well. Maybe a bit of graham cracker mixed in. The mouthfeel is super creamy and viscous.

Shy Bear Brewing (Lewistown, PA) - Especiado

Nice dry dark cocao flavor along with heavy dose of cinnamon and earthy chilli pepper. Nice and complex, and not sweet despite the lactose. 11% abv

A beer of that caliber in a Yeti is unhinged. I love it
