What beer are you drinking now? #4002

PBR drinking wife should be happy with me when she gets home. I scrubbed and sanitized her bird baths so they can be stored for the off season. Treating myself now, joining @Roguer with some breakfast without the baby. Cheers.

 

I know it's been said before in different ways but that babyless newer label has a completely "walked right past it in the store" quality if one didn't already know what it was. Crazy.

 

American Brown Ale from the good folks at Civil Life Brewing. Perfect fall vibes on this one.

 

I've found that one very enjoyable for a pilsner when fresh as well. Great beer!

1) Eagle Park M.C. Hammerschlagen (5.9%): An Festbier from Wisconsin with flavors of pale Munich malt, bread, earthy honey with light toast and flower notes. Smooth.
versus
2) Bad Weather Festbier (6.3%): A Festbier from Minnesota with flavors of pale Munich malts, bread malt, yeast. Somewhat dry. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

Winner:
1) Eagle Park M.C. Hammerschlagen: Festbier Battle. Two favorites from last year and both very similar from what I remember. Eagle Park drinks very similar to memory. Big and sweet flavors. Lots of earthy honey notes and very smooth. Bad Weather seems more tamed than last year's version. Seems dryer and more yeasty. Both still very good. Usually not a fan of sweetness, but in Eagle Park's Festbier the flavors seem to work beautifully.

Enjoying a Mexican style BBAIS from Jackie O's. Think Stone Xocoveza but bigger and tastier, but this is definitely not for everyone.
