Full review here. Good beer, liked the BA version better.

Don’t know the bands or songs on until this one, but digging a lot as always when Stephen is behind the bar.

Forecast is for snow tomorrow, so we've been out getting everything ready.
I'm ready for a beer with lunch.

Pictures are showing just fine for me. But dude. Drinking these high ABV beers so early in the day would incapacitate me for the rest of the day. Not sure how you all are doing it.

Second new to me pour, same style pairing as yesterday (Saison & Wild Ale).

    De Garre The Chateau

Beer Temple Notes: 8 oz $9 tenure glass draft pour. 5.5% ABV, blended wild ale, Tilamook, Oregon.

Appearance: Orange Bronze Base, creamy white head leaves thick ring above the rim and thin cover across the base. Cloudy base, can’t see the carbonation beyond tiny bubbles rising to the top. 4.25

    Aroma:
Light sweet flavored, grape bubblicious, funky horse blanket damp from the rain, lemon, white grape. Trip through the farm, really nice, full strength. 4.5

    Taste:
Many taste sensations found taste wise. Lemon heads, lemongrass, white wine. Damp horse blanket, hay here, De Garre laid down the funk. Very nice. 4.5

Mouthfeel: Funky, slightly sour and acidic. Consistent light carbonation, sweet overall with puckering sourness, light and easy ABV wise. A bit creamy, lemon drop finish. 4.25

    Overall:
This is a very enjoyable wild ale, everything blends well, hits my sweet spots. Very nice blend here, glad I came back for this one. De Garre is fire. 4.5

    1) Erdinger Weissbier (5.3%): A German Hefeweizen with flavors of pale malts, wheat, yeast, mild spices. Dry and clean.
    versus
    2) Schneider Weisse Tap 7 (5.4%): A German Hefeweizen with flavors of rich bread, German yeast and spices of clove, banana, and aspirin. Rich and sweet. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

    Winner:
    1) Erdinger Weissbier:
First German Hefeweizen battle of the year. Haven't had Erdinger much, but seemed to have lower ratings on BeerAdvocate at 81. It drinks soft, smooth, and clean. Tamed spices and a bit milder than other hefeweizens.
Tap 7 is another classic that characteristically drinks far darker and sweeter, rated at 89. Strong yeast, bread, and spice profile. Lots of cloves and aspirin notes. Much stronger and almost hedges toward a dunkelweizen. For now I think I preferred the subtleness of Erdinger, but letting the two sit, Tap 7 is growing on me.

No luck finding Born Yesterday, Celebration or Hopslam yet. I did score a couple 4 packs of Fremont Cowiche Canyon so all is good. A stellar fresh hop ale!

Nice review! I'm a huge fan of Tap 7. I like the way it kind of splits the difference between the Hefe we're used to and a Dunkelweizen. It's definitely my favorite German Hefe.

It helps that I'm spreading and pacing it out, myself. Evil Julius was a lunch beer. Backwoods Bastard ... well, I've still got probably 40% of it left in my glass, over 40 minutes after I started. It's not going to take me another 40 minutes to finish, but still.

I often change up to a light lager to start with dinner prep, too; something that won't fill me up or knock me out. I'll often then need a refill toward the end of the cook, and that's often more in the IPA/IIPA territory, but by then cooking is nearly over.

Happy Hump Day BAs! I've got the next couple days off. The plan is to hit Bold Monk Brewing and maybe do some last Octoberfesting up in Helen, GA. Until then, having a Trop Moment as we say down here.
