I am so ready for tomorrow’s cold front to blow through. Outside is bearable now but still not fall weather. Needed a high ABV beer.

 

In the waning days of October, I’m finishing up my Märzen! This one is tied for first on the domestic side with Great Lakes, “Oktoberfest “! Wilmington Brew Works, “Umlaut”! So good and I’m so glad my coworker, who can walk to the brewery, hooks me up every year with some!

Wait what...oh yeah, got to spin some Joni ha. The above quote was from a fan during her Miles of Aisles live album. It is equally appropriate for her 1969 Carnegie Hall Concert ha. Which has worked its way to one of my favorite live albums from her. That is saying something.

While Joni is of course from Canada, she is also a California girl. So, I need a WCIPA. That would be the classic Sierra Nevada Torpedo.

 

Kicking things off with a local black IPA and it’s a good one. I’m all about bringing this style back!


I’ve been listening to John Carpenter on Spotify and he’s got some great scores for this time of year!

 

At Pontoon Brewing, unfortunately this is their last night open for the foreseeable future.

They are looking for investors to hopefully open the doors back open soon! Support your local breweries folks.

Galactic Madness IPA

 

I wasn’t quite sure about this one when I read what is in it, but I’m digging it: Elysian, “Punkuccino “ Coffee Pumpkin Ale! I’m not a big fan of pumpkin beers or coffee infused ales, but this is really good!

 

May be the earliest I’ve ever had a Celebration. Hits the spot.
