    Covert Artisan Fort Isak BBA Imperial Stout, 13.8% ABV. Pours black with a ring of bubbles. Nose is maple, coffee and bourbon. Taste is strong maple, coffee, and strong bourbon, moderately sweet and bourbon burn. Decent mouthfeel, overall outstanding. Too boozy can be a negative, but I forgive them since it's Blanton's. Isak recommended this beer.

    Isak is the manager of the store that provided the barrel and he was unaware that the brewery was naming it after him until the cans were delivered.

    @Resistance88 was a barleywhiner today so I'm going to be an imperious lout with this beaut from @beergoot thank you!

    The name dropping of the barrels used in this blend is jaw dropping, 10 different bourbons, ryes, and whiskeys aged for 24-30 months. This one announces its thicccness on the pour with a uniquely viscous sounding glug. A thin rim of a head forms after almost a full minute of looking flat.

    The flavors are intense and concentrated. Semi-sweet chocolate notes are abundant and have a strong edge of molasses, which I'm loving. I also caramel candies, brownie batter, and light dark fruits. Oh, and the barrels! Soooo much brown liquor plus earthy vanilla and leathery oak. Damn good stout!

    I sipped it and went "oh fuck, this shit is good"

    Just what i like in a BBA Imperial Stout . High ABV, Very obvious alcohol presence on the nose and not too syrupy. Goes down nicely as well.

    I don't usually care for coconut, but i got sent two in a recent trade.
    I also can't remember if i asked for them or not , but as the internet says: "NO RAHGRETS!"
    I think you'd enjoy this.

    Breakfast Epiphanies from Free Will. Imperial stout aged in bourbon maple syrup barrels with coffee. Comes in at 12.6% ABV. Huge thanks to Dan (@DIM ) for sending this can!

    Poured at fridge temp. Pours motor oil black with a solid 2 inches of brown head. Once the head dissipated, it looked rich and creamy. The nose is fantastic. Huge roasted malts, coffee, maple, and some vanilla.

    The taste is insane. Huge coffee notes hit first. This is really good coffee, not the cheap shit. Following this is maple, vanilla, molasses, roasted malts, almonds, baking chocolate, biscuits, and slight tobacco.

    The mouthfeel is super creamy. Overall, a fantastic stout!
