IMO, all DFH exclamation stouts need a six pack consumed fresh, and a case cellared for ten years. I never saw a BA version of the wake up variant, just the Utopias recently. Cinnamon in the wake up…Meh.

They just released regular base again!

    6 Paraboloids?

    Def drink them asap.
The only thing worth a shit to age from FW ( and everyone else) is §ucaba and CERTAIN Anniv.

I've had Parabolas from 2012 to present and they are best when fresh

    Quote me on that

    Correct.

I’ve had decent luck with the Parabolas…oldest is 2018, so those are due to be rotated through my belly this year.

I haven’t enjoyed the Sucaba (not that we get it any more) since the first one I had, which I think was a 2016 maybe. That was complex and gooey, but the later one (2019?, from Tavour…) was mostly meh for me.

Using tavour takes away the enjoyment by 20%

My average rating from 12 beers i got from them ( my one and ONLY time) is 2.3/ 5

§ucaba is an outstanding beer and definitely world class ( IMO)

Considering they still haven’t found a local last leg carrier, so I drive 2 hours each way, feel free to deduct 40-50%.

Cross posted with cellar reviews, where full description is given. This 2014 BCBS came out just about perfect after ten years in my dark and chilly cellar. Cheers fellow stout lovers! [IMG]

I found 3 6-packs of this today at the bottom of a walk in cooler. I was about to grab one but noticed the canning date of 2019. Think it will be ok? Never had it before and Stone barely has any distro here. There’s some 2015 corked bottle RIS stouts around too but not in fridges

I would grab those BA RIS in a heartbeat. ( assuming price is right)

I was gifted some 2925- 2016 Xocoveza ( the og blue cans) and still tasted great.Sometimes ya gotta gamble

The stouts aren’t barrel aged unfortunately, otherwise they would already be mine

Interesting. I’ll be back at the spot soon so I’ll double check. I know I read the label but I’ve been known to lack attention to detail

Alright, digging into the stout/barleywine BIF box from @sulldaddy !! Imperial Keep it Crunchy from Ommegang.

Poured from a can at fridge temp. Pour jet black with very persistent light brown head. The nose is maple granola, graham crackers, vanilla, and milk chocolate. Really smooth.

The taste nicely follows the nose. Vanilla, graham crackers, some roasted malts, slight oaky bitterness, oat milk, nuts, and chocolate. Super smooth and creamy. Really nice.
