de Garde - The Archer (Wild Ale with Pinot Noir grapes, aged in oak for 3 years).

Another delicious beer from de Garde. This one pours a color that I can only describe as that of watered down red wine, with a pinkish head. The aroma is funk and your expected Pinot Noir notes from the grapes. The taste is well balanced with sourness and bitterness being predominant. Very pleasant mouth feel and a long, dry, and bitter finish.

Hey BAs,
I wanted to be in a more joyful thankful place to say that my 16 yo dog Nelly passed away last Monday after a short illness. She was part of the fabric of my family’s lives, was fun, gentle, ever happy to be with her people. The house is way quiet now, she really never left either me or my wife’s side. It’s the end of an era, which I would call little kids to adults. We got her for my oldest kid, and Nelly promptly became Robin to my wife’s Batman. Since Covid times I walked her every day and I became the apple of her eye. It was her and me for many many walks, and times to enjoy a cold beer on the deck afterwards. I appreciate her, and share this with my VB friends, because we are friends! Doggonit!

Maybe all the memories that we’ve gathered here tonight, are all dreams now remembered, or wishes in plain sight. No matter what, they’re with us now. For this night and forever. And every time we close our eyes, they’re yours and mine to treasure. Goodnight, and sleep well.
