3 Floyds Brewing (2023)

Now if they’d just rebrew The Creeper doppelbock (Pelican collab) again, I’d be ecstatic. Great beer and my all time favorite label.

 

Hopefully with a functioning brewpub they can revisit on draft some of the favorites from year's past (there are a lot I miss) that don't make it into their distro schedule.

Got singles of Permanent Funeral and Hopslam today. Hoping to be inspired into buying more of each

 

New batch of PF is pretty good. This used to be one of my all time favorites so it’s always hard to compare on a revisit. Glad I picked up a fresh one in any case

 

I kind of want to do a side by side with ice. Maybe tomorrow

 

While a big beer, it doesn’t totally drink over 10% either. Will be interesting to see how the body of Ice compares

 

Backmasking is really good. Damn, missed this beer.

Having not had it, I just assumed some strawberry could come off a bit sour, and that perhaps they haven’t had any infected beers. But, no better place to ask.

 

3F is aware of some infected bottles. If your bottle is infected, you can take it to them and they will replace it.

The notes they’re looking for is sourness. You’ll get it on the nose and as you drink it.

 

So basically they guy ISO an infected bottle should just reach out to Floyds for a trade?

 

Untappd is rife with infected checkins.

 

I’ll be honest: I didn’t even check untappd. Would have thought someone would have posted if they had come across this before. I might have just missed it, but figured it was worth posting.

 

I hadn’t heard about it at all until I saw your post and then went to Untappd to see how widespread it was. I’ve put mine in the fridge so hopefully it’s in time and you’ve saved a beer! Thanks for the heads up.

 

Wonder if the finger will point at the adjuncts or more likely the port barrels?

 

I opened mine in July and thought it was delicious.

 

Had mine a couple weeks ago knowing there were rumors and found it perfectly fine. However it seems pretty obvious there are some bad bottles, with people noting vinegar qualities--so not just the tartness strawberry might impart, though I found the strawberry very mild in mine. Really wish coconut was more prominent in it considering how successful Cocomungo is.
