Hello from Toulouse!

Toulouse is almost 2200 years old and was founded by the Romans.

Because the Garonne Valley was a major point for trade between both seas (the Mediterranean & the Atlantic Ocean) and the mountain range between France and Spain, (the Pyrenees), a city had to be founded there, and that is why the Romans came up with ‘Tolosa’ in the 2nd century BC.

It was quickly developed after the conquest of Gaul, from a military outpost to a proper Roman city.

 

1) Revelation Ale Works Tamarac Stomp (4.5%): A Vienna Lager from Minnesota with flavors brown bread, sweet caramel. Sour on the finish.
versus
2) BlackStack What’s The Beef? (5.1%): A Vienna Lager from Minnesota with flavors of brown bread, mild caramel. Yeasty, dry, clean. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

Winner:
2) BlackStack What's The Beef?: Minneosta Vienna Lager Battle. First is Revalation Ale Works and has good reviews. Nice pour and aromas, but on the taste it's sour. Must be spoiled or something. Unfortunately a drain pour.
Next is BlackStack. Pours similar. Brown bread flavors, mild caramel. Clean finish. pretty standard for a Vienna Lager and the clear winner here.

1) Equilibrium mc² (8.0% canned 8/2/23): A NEIPA from NY with flavors of sweet mango, pineapple, and apricot. Today tart and yeasty.
versus
2) Equilibrium Fluctuation (8.1% canned 8/27/23): A NEIPA from NY with flavors of bright tropical notes of passion fruit, mango, pineapple, and lychee. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

Winner:
2) EQ Fluctation: EQ Flagship World-Class NEIPA Battle. Finally got these two together. First is mc². This is the second from the batch I've had and seems like something is off with the yeast. It's too carbonated, yeasty, and tart. Not quite up to usual and second one I've had with this problem.
Next is Fluctuation. Delicious tropical pineapple, mango skins, and rainbow sorbet flavors. This may be the best EQ IPA and one of the best IPAs I've had. Completely deserving of a World-Class IPA.

 

Home early and a tad thirsty. Cheers all.
