[IMG] I’ve had a few offerings from Great Notion and they were very good, but this one is the best that I have had: “Double Stack “ Imperial Breakfast Stout! This goes out to @ronricorossi for sending me it and to @Resistance88 for the SAG strike ending!

Had to come back due to the back to back assault my doors been facing!

    Thanks for the shoutout @Braunmeister_1943
While i am happy that this nightmare is over there i still more terror ahead as IATSE (which covers the work i do) is set to strike in July:confused::skull: So there is still a LONG battle ahead . Major respect goes out to SAG , even though i heard the folded on the AI terms . Hopefully everyone can get to work for the short time being.

Couldn't post this in the BIF thread(insufficient privileges)but a special thank you goes out to @sulldaddy, @DIM , @CarolinaCardinals for the Ninja work they did and @Beersnake1 for putting together an epic BIF.

@DIM I'll post all the addjunx i taste in the beer in a couple hours

    Welcome BACK!
Glad the ninja strikes have found their target! Simply didnt feel right to have the imperial stout champion and founder of the appreciation thread not be able to participate in the Big Stouts and Barleywine BIF! Hope you enjoy those treats and definitely share your thoughts and experiences in the NBW thread!!

Time to drop another big beer in here from the Big Stout and Barleywine BIF!! Cross posted with New Beer Weekend Thread This is a beer from @Dimidiata Thank you so much for sending me this treat. This is Highland Park Brewery and their 12.7% Chaos into Order Imperial Stout with Cacao nibs, sea salt and marshmallow added to the beer. Glad to have the opportunity to consume and share with y'all!

    onto my review:
Sampling a 500 ml bottle at cellar temp poured into my snifter. The beer pours a very dark chocolate brown color with very short lived tan head frothing up and fading to nothing almost immediately after the pour. No lattice and some "legs" do appear to cling to the glass when I swirl or take a sip.
Aroma is sweet and chocolate up front with some cherry cordial and marshmallow notes mixing together. I believe the cherry note is from marshmallow. Definitely a sweet nose, no fusol booze and certainly no hop profile that I can detect.
First sip reveals a velvety smooth texture and medium to thicker body, with a bit of a sticky coating on my lips and palate after each sip. Definitely a bigger feeling beer and a sipper in my book.
Flavor is hot cocoa powder and sweet chocolate bar, with a good dose of marshmallow sweetness coming in midway and and lingering long after every swallow. Sweetness carries the beer over the finish line and it is 100% marshmallow, no hops, no biting booze finish or warming. Never get anything from the sea salt addition on this beer.
I really enjoyed drinking this beer over the past 90 minutes or so. gotta say the physical traits on this one are VERY nice. Glad to have tried it. Thank you to @Dimidiata for sending this one along!

Stopped at the brewery on the way home from work, Eel River, and found they had the newest iteration of their Unkindness stout on tap. These take their base stout and age them in different barrels/barrel combinations. This is number 4 in the series and is aged in Blackberry brandy barrels (a new one for me). It's the wildest one I've tried so far. Nose is straight blackberry parfait and the taste is a nice boozy chocolate blackberry thing. Interesting, but not something I'd go for all the time. I'll grab a 4 pack and see how it ages

-Look: Burnt dark-brown to black - time for an oil change.
-Aroma: Decadence. Milk chocolate, vanilla, coconut.
-Taste: Rich milk stout, chocolate, vanilla, coconut, mild alcohol.
-Feel: Medium oily elixir, coating, chewy, slippery, warm.
    -Overall: Head-spinning, delicious, forbidden, shame...shame.
