decided/didn’t decide to be in a horrendous mood over horse shit so I’m doubling down, rolled a joint and made some home made Cuban style split pea soup like my ex father in law showed me (he’s Cuban so I’m inclined to believe this is a thing) and just put a focaccia I made in the oven. I will relax if it kills me. my little girl is coming here tomorrow for a visit so I’m hype.

Enjoying my final 2023 Hopslam as I watch the Seahawks take on the Commanders after their disastrous loss to the Ravens last Sunday. Cheers!

 

Resetting my palate with DDH Oblivex (Simcoe) from Tired Hands. I'm glad we're seeing expanded distro in North Jersey. For awhile it was only Alien Church (which alone is worth it) and HopHands. This one blends tropical and stone fruit sweetness with spicy pine sap. Superb drinking!

 

Festbier in the middle of November? I'm game even though marzens and festbiers are so July and August any more. Actually only drank one pint of marzen this year. All the rest were festbiers. Jack's Abby/Weihenstephan Fest of Both Worlds was the best one. And btw, I spelled Weihenstephan correctly without looking...twice. Cheers!

Sierra Nevada Celebration IPA (Cascade, Centennial, Chinook). This one finally hit the shelves around my area. As always, great balance between malt and hops with the hops still managing to shine with their piney, resinous, earthy, and citrusy goodness. I have a feeling I'm going to be drinking this one quite a bit over the next few months.
