    Enjoyed this one last night:

    Saint Errant Brewing - Orijen

Imperial Stout rested for 20 months in 17 year old Wild Turkey Master barrels, with the addition of Tongan vanilla beans for the final 3 months.

Really impressed with these Saint Errant BA beers.

It's supposed to be available starting tomorrow at the "Mother Ship" but if patterns hold true, it will be available now if markets <> Michigan.
It's coming soon or out there already.
Not that this tells you anything at all helpful come to think of it...

Enjoying a Salted Chocolate Abraxas that dropped late last year in Western NC. The adjuncts most notably cinnamon, cocoa, and chilis are well incorporated with the hopping just right to make this a balanced brew. A tasty spendy treat, glad i had the opportunity to try. Rated 4.25.
    Cheers!

This is drinking like an imperial export stout to me, exxxport stout? Very dry overall with lots of roast but only moderate bitterness. Lots of semi-sweet cocoa with hints of licorice, acidic coffee, cherry, and light char. Per the can, this is 14.6% abv. Tasted blind I'd have guessed 9%, until I stood up anyway. Excellent stout.

Big thanks to @sulldaddy for this one! Banana Karaoke from Barreled Souls and Magnify Brewing. An imperial stout with peanuts, Thai banana, and salted caramel. Comes in at 13.5% ABV.

Poured at fridge temp from a bottle. Pours black with a small quickly disappearing layer of head. The nose is really smooth. I first get a good does of salted caramel, and I love it. Digging deeper I get some nice milk chocolate, hazelnuts, a hint of banana, and lots of vanilla/marshmallow.

The taste is excellent. Sweet for sure, but not too sweet for me. I get brown sugar coated bananas, cinnamon, nutmeg, chocolate, salted caramel, molasses, candied sugar, peanuts, graham cracker, and a bit of pumpkin spice.

The mouthfeel is medium to thick bodied, with a sweet salted caramel aftertaste. Not detecting the alcohol at all. Really nice and interesting beer!

2019 version, the last time they had Blis barrels to work with. By choice or by whatever reason, Blis took his amazing barrels elsewhere.
Down to my last four pack.
    Oh, and it’s still excellent.

Grabbed a sixer of Bells Expedition Stout, which I haven't done in quite a while. Old school goodness right here. Dark chocolate bar, coffee bean, plenty of roasted malt, cocoa powder, nuttiness, big star anise, molasses, some caramel, peat, slight cherry, hop resin. Soft and creamy. This one is drinking mighty fine fresh and will only get better with time.

I have a 6 or 7 year vertical of that; trying to find the right people to share it with as trying to drink them in one evening myself is just not feasible.

That will be a great vertical. Tough to find enough people for something like that though. Hope you find at least a few to share it with! Would be interested to know what the winner was. I have my guesses.

Time to share another big beer with this group! This is Bottle Logic and Jam the Radar Raspberry IMperial Stout. 2021 vintage, sent to me by our fearless leader @Resistance88 Thank you kindly good sir!

    onto my review:

Sampling a 2021 vintage bottle poured at cellar temp into my snifter. Been in my cellar for several weeks after receipt in a trade. Label says Batch 005, not sure that means anything.
The beer pours a black coffee color and very fizzy but minimal tan head foams up and is gone instantly, leaving only the thinnest of edge layers as any evidence of carbonation.
Aroma on this beer is dark chocolate, brown sugar , a bit of bourbon, but surprisingly no raspberry notes. Hops absent on the nose and booze doesnt reveal any fusol notes on the aroma.
The first sip reveals a lighter body than expected, but still in the medium range. Texture is fairly smooth and doesnt have much stickiness to it. Carbonation is very fine, sort of fleeting and borders on being still. Id say overall the physical traits are not really what I expected from a bigger imperial stout.
Flavor is chocolate bar and bourbon with a bit of cocoa powder dryness and then a blast of raspberries. WOW! That is fruity. The fruit dominates till I swallow and lingers also. Sort of a chocolate covered raspberry note with a creamy candy taste. I swear I keep getting banana, even though Im sure its the overabundance of raspberry tricking me.
Never any hop notes and the booze doesnt show up in bite or warming. Slightly dangerous, very big beer.
This in enjoyable, but if you didnt like raspberries, you may not like it. I enjoy them and grow my own each summer. Glad to have tried this beer.
