LOL. Because I found a picture on Cellarmaker website for the beer. The bottle I drank (I have a second) has the Willet Barrel info.

2021 Ryeway to Heaven. Tasting fantastic right now. Tons of rye spice, dark fruit, toffee, and a nice earthy note. Boozy. Great.

Winter hasn’t even really started but I just felt cold today and this seemed right. Getting more boozy character than before with this one.

Finishing off a half bottle of Flesh to Stone by Boittle Logic. A tasty peach barleywine. Cheers.

This one is phenomenal. I wish they would release another brandy barrel-aged version.

I have 1 more of those and I keep hoping some form of BA Old Stock will see wide distro one day. Love the smaller, more reasonably priced packaging North Coast switched to. Still some $25 500ml Old Raspy on the shelves here.

This barrel aged Behemoth is 2 weeks and 2 days shy of 2 years old. I've had plenty these fresh over the last couple of years, I like this one a lot. Hope to another batch around here next month.

Little change here I think, slightly less bitterness at the finish maybe, still lots of rich, boozy caramel and a raisin note that oddly isn't sweet plus a bit of coconut and oak. Lateral move 2 years out, not sure this will improve with more time but I don't see it dropping off anytime soon either. 2 left, think I'll let one go long term for science.

Tree House: Gilded Grove, Madeira Barrel.
Blonde barleywine aged in Madeira barrels. First ever blonde barleywine. Definitely different. Kind of like a way tamed down english style. No bitterness or resin/pine which would be expected in American style. Not sure what Madeira barrels transfer over, but I’m getting huge green apple on the nose and taste. It’s somewhat syrupy and slightly sweet. Not my favorite, but maybe it’s just that blonde isn’t my style. @DIM I’m glad I sent you the bourbon one. I was planning on aging that one it if this one felt like it needed some time, but I honestly don’t see how age will improve this, or change it in any meaningful way.

Here's one some of you might remember from a few years ago..Its an american Barelywine and is really nice and thick. Still Pretty hoppy and matly....I started this last night as you can see from the floaties from the last of the bottle...I'm quite happy with this

Good choice for me for sure, I like blonde barleywine and LOVE bourbon barrels. The others sound kinda interesting but a distant second and third...

Cracked a couple of old Central Waters beers from the cellar this week. This one from 2017 - held up well - sweet/dark fruits - bitter back end. Damn.

Is Tree House even making sense though? Calling that beer "blonde" is bizarre. It's a pale barley wine... like loads of others.

The Ommegang Game of Throne beers seemed to get a lot of dissatisfaction here but I liked that barley wine.

Idk. I’m sure it was blonde before it went into barrels. No idea the qualifications of the style, though

I did consider that the beer must have picked up some color from the wood aging... so my post was being a bit too harsh and one-sided. Still makes me wonder though. :beers:

I'm very excited to finally get to try Copestone from Fox Farm, thanks a ton to @VodkaPong87 for the chance!

Easiest wax to remove ever, it almost has the consistency of silly putty.

2023 vintage and this is a great one, with the barrels taking center stage. I absolutely love that the balance leans port over bourbon between the 2 barrels. Up front the port notes are vinous, dry, and musty, they take on a grape juicy sweetness towards the finish. From the bourbon asserting itself maybe? I also get plenty of brown sugar with hints of vanilla, raisins, molasses, oaky leather and dark honey. The body has a nice sticky viscosity to it. Overall this isn't as sweet as most examples of the style making this a delicious change of pace.
