Yep. I love mine. It was worth the $12 I spent on it.

This one’s got a magnet on the back, sits on the side of my fridge, and is my go-to opener.

It’s sturdy and has enough length for leverage that there’s no nonsense in getting caps off like with some of the fancier little openers that have been gifted to me.

After about a decade of regular use, the metal part that directly contacts and lifts upwards against the cap is showing some signs of wear, though. I may be in the market for a replacement in a year or two. :beers:

Hand forged steel, bought at an artists’ collective somewhere along the Turquoise Trail (NM-14, starts east of Albuquerque and runs north to Santa Fe) in 2015 or 2016:

Each opener was unique, with slight differences in size and feel. Mine fit my grip perfectly:

Shaker pint glass with an attached multipurpose opener. More suitable for the oddities museum than for actual service, unless you happen to like openers with fat awkward glass handles. (Kaito seems mildly curious, but it's apparently not worth getting up for.)

A few keychain openers that I no longer carry. Sentimental value only.
    a. Flimsy construction, integrated tape measure and flashlight. Gift from a coworker.
    b. Purchased at an all-night convenience store in Greensboro, NC, during a late-night beer run.
    c. Purchased at a Love's truck stop somewhere in the deep South. I think it's supposed to be a .308 cartridge.

What’s the story on this one-home made? If not, where’d you get it? Its magnificent.

I did. The entire opener is made with Yellowheart, Bloodwood, and Ebony. I made that one for one of my good friends and they're Pittsburgh Steeler fans. Aside from whether one is a fan or not, the wood was the appropriate choice.

edit: after 20 years or so, still a functioning wine bottle opener too. This is involved in so many memorable (and completely forgotten) nights...

I got this about 10 years ago as a reward while going through Old Chicago's "beer tour"; as you drank all 110 beers they had, you would get different things, (a deck of playing cards, t-shirts, etc.) culminating with a sweatshirt and a plaque with your name on a wall of the restaurant. I eventually finished it!
