    Rise & Shine, BA's! Cabernet Finish BA Dire Wolf, an imperial stout from Wolf's Ridge, Columbus, Ohio. Chocolate, molasses, and licorice atop dark roasted malt, with notes of dark berries and jam that give it a winey quality. Very sweet but not cloying, with a bit of warmth and a clean and slightly oaky finish. Overall, an incredible beer that balances its many elements very well. Wolf's Ridge just shot to the top of my list of breweries to visit when I'm back in my hometown next month. Cheers!

    Rich, clear, dark brown pour, opaque in the glass; initial thin light tan head, fades to wispy ring around the glass soon enough; sparse yet lingering fingers of foam drape down the glass after each sip. Deep, dark malt aroma infused with notes of raisins and dates; dark chocolate. Intense layers of flavor; milk and dark chocolate; dried, dark pitted fruits and raisins; enthralling line of bourbon cutting through the dark sweetness; leather; black licorice. Heavy body; velvety richness coats the palate; warm, lingering boozy warmth.

    This is just a phenomenal dark beer. The barrel aging melds nicely with the base beer, delivering wonderful complexity and depth to the drinking experience.

    ...got the new re-release box set of Pharoah Sander's 'Pharoah' the other day...glad to have seen him live in Washington DC back in the early 90s...

    It is not a bad tripple, great carbonation, good head, a delightful bready-minty smell, beautiful bottle, only problem is their barley malt. I am quite sure they buy it from the Swinckels maltery that produces malts with this kind of skunky taste.

    It seems I chose the evil side here.
