Curious how many people on here are cicerones?

I'm not completely convinced by competing thoughts how to hopefully smoothly navigate this question. Beer is so many things to so many people Being a Cicerone is just fine. It is a good credit to study and experience. But a lifetime of beer interest and travel is just fine also, and no certificate is required. no diploma necessary.

I understand the hesitancy, I really am just curious how many are on here.

*Cicerone Beer Sever. I would like to get the official one with the in person test, but I've been moving around so much don't have the monetary necessity or location to take it right now for $300 or whatever. I could pass it given the chance I know all the off flavors, I took the multiple choice in 2020 without studying and got my pin and patch.

I am also a Certified Beer Server, got it around 2010. Actually had the pleasure of being in a group that took a10-day course from Ray Daniels himself. My name's still in the directory on the website and there's another Joel Clark that's a CBS that lives in Toronto.

I thought about going through the process, but just didn't really have enough reasons to pull the trigger.

I would rather put that money towards buying beer, renewing my BA society membership, glassware, etc. Does sound kinda cool though!

I’m a Certified Beer Server. Got that in 2015(?) and had plans to go further with it but never did. Now I really have no reason to. C’est la vie

No. But I do find the program interesting.
I was talking with a Guinness employee who was hosting a tasting event in their barrel room earlier in the year. He was gearing up for the level 3 certification at the time. He had me convinced to try for the beer server cert but I have yet to do so.

...doesn't being a Pooh-Bah automatically make everyone with that BA status an honorary cicerone...?1?...

Maybe the Flintstones version for BA and the Fez for cicerone?

    Cheers!
