It sucks that American venues for sports, concerts, etc just absolutely exploit the crap out of us. It's a really churn and burn way of doing business.

I’m in Chicago, those prices are wild yes. But I’d gladly pay for one pint of that than paying $10 for a plastic cup of Daisycutter at Metro.

Other Half is fabulous but 16/pint isn’t worth it. As good as it is, there’s other good alternatives out there.

What are the prices of the other beer? At an NYC concert venue you'd probably pay that for a Lagunitas.

I've paid ~$20 for a Bud Light. $16 isn't bad for a good IPA. It tastes better and a quicker buzz. Still a lot, but we're never getting taproom prices at a music venue.

Math isn't mathing on that 16oz pour as noted. The 12 oz prices aren't too bad, only slightly higher than Centre St prices. I travel to Chicago often for work so was excited to check the new spot out at some point.

Yeah those 12oz pours are not out of hand at all compared to other OH locations. Something is totally off about the 16oz pours.

It's like someone this in excel and meant to do =A1+B1-2 and did +2 instead.

They posted today that they corrected the pricing and apologized.

I’ll ignore this post as I enjoy my $18 Modelo at the Nets game tonight. I’d be happier if they at least had a couple decent options like a $20 Green City or something but they seem to only have the less desirable craft options at Barclay.

The Celtics have the most expensive beer prices in the Association. They have some craft beers at the Garden, but it sucks how exploitive the pricing is. And this is a criticism of most, not all, venues in America.

Was going to preorder the glassware they posted. It costs the same to get the set as just two of them (I have the banana tumbler). Not sure why the shipping on two glasses is almost double what it costs to ship three glasses.

I bought cans of 2nd, 3rd, and 4th from Half Time for $32/4 pack and I feel like such an asshole for giving into FOMO.

Ouch. 25% markup is a bit steep. I’m not sure how it works but the place closest to me that gets the regular direct OH distribution sells at the same price OH does, so I assume they dictate that pricing to those in the official distribution chain. All of the places around me that get a more random supply of OH beer (I assume indirectly through a distributor?) charge higher prices.

Based on NYC bottle shop prices, $8/can for super hyped triple IPA sounds about right, but sucks that the shop doesn't break it into singles.

Half Time's markup is definitely up there. I'm good friends with their director of purchasing and name dropping him usually gets me a 10-20% discount depending on who is on the register. They make up for it in selection, though. They're the only store around me that semi-regularly gets stuff from Bottle Logic, Parish, Jester King. They have a sick Schilling selection. I went to a bottle share in Long Island and a buddy asked me to grab him 2 of each Schilling can and it ended up being 15 different cans. They also get a lot of stuff from local breweries and I don't mind paying a small markup to save me the trip. For example, Suarez 4 packs are $22.50 (so around $20 with discount) at Half Time versus $18 at the brewery. Suarez is about a 45 minute one way drive for me, so I'm happy to pay the markup to avoid the drive.

They break up 4 packs, but there's a small charge for doing so. It comes out to like $8.75 a can if you only buy 1.

Yeah they even had revolution (at Tavour prices) and used to have Fiden's. I can easily see going there regularly if I lived nearby. Tolls, gas, time... if you're looking for top tier stuff there's a convenience factor that's hard to beat.

I did BTW post a quick 4th anniversary review in "what MA are you drinking". It definitely drinks well, not overly boozy for the ABV. I think the big difference between at least the original is I recall it being a pineapple bomb not much different than this, but the old version had a bit of bitterness that this lacks, and I feel like that's a universal OH thing, less dankness and bitterness across the lineup. Very good though, tried a taster of 3rd, prefer the 4th. I don't know where it was brewed to save any bias for what it is worth.
I'd be more interested what people think of the last couple ACE batches (since I know people still aren't loving SD) as I always see batches of DC ACE round me, but have a hard time paying 22.99 for often 2.5 to 3 week old
Double ipas. Might bite next time if they've been solid.

Yeah, maybe $20 for I forget what beer at Pier 17 a couple years ago. I'd gladly take the OH in this case.

But seriously, BA meetup Feb 10th? Early afternoon, say 2ish? I'll bring BA adjunct trail if that's what people want!
