I've got one of these in the fridge for sometime this winter. I've never gone for the Framinghammer variants before as I find the base is already at an ideal sweetness, but decided to give this a try now that you can get singles from the brewery. You're review is making me look forward to it even more.

I hope you enjoy it. Maple is way up on my favorite flavors list but it can be easy to overdo it. What I do find consistently with the Framinghammer variants is they don't hide the roots - you can find Framinghammer. I just haven't liked some of the flavors.

Cross posted this beer with the What Mid-Atlantic Beer are you drinking thread. This is Fest Lager from ZeroDay Brewing in Harrisburg. This beer is a 5.4% ABV lager that was given to me at Christmas.

    onto my review:
Sampling a cellar temp 16 oz can and pouring into my .5L dimple mug.
The beer pours a slightly hazy goldenrod color with a fizzy bleached white head of 1cm . This foam fades to nothing soon after the pour. There are several active streams of carbonation, but they do not replenish the foam.
Aroma is some grainy malts and a bit of cracker and mild lemon. I also get some grassy hops on the nose.
First sip reveals a lighter body and very fine tingly carbonation and smooth texture. This beer drinks very easy.
Flavor is some grainy malt and a bit of sweet lemon again, sort of hard candy lemon not citrusy notes. There is a bit of light fruitiness that lingers after each sip. But the finish also dries out my palate encouraging me to take the next sip.
Pretty tasty festbier that I am glad to have had the chance to try.

Stonecloud Brewing Co. Chinook Me All Night Hazy APA, 5.5% ABV; 4.02 overall

Pours a hazed gold with a pinky of eggshell colored head. Good lacing & head retention

S: Some citrus notes, some passion fruit, was hoping for more nose

T: Oranges, dryness & grapefruit up front, a kiss of pineapple as well. Tangerine, oranges & little lime as this beer warms up, some dryness too. Finishes a bit dry with a touch of white grape, green melon & pomelo

MF: Medium body, fairly lively carbonation

Super easy to drink, nice Juicer of an APA

Praying that all goes well. Amazing what modern medical professionals can do these days, but it’s never a given for it to go well.

Great Notion - Triple Strawberry Marshmallow Shake.

16oz can served in a snulip. Can't see the digits very well, but I think it was canned 12/14/23.

Pours a murky burnt orange color with a thick, creamy head that starts out around a half inch and turns into a thick, dense skin. Smell is vanilla, marshmallow, orange, berry jam, sweet and creamy.

Taste is strawberry tartness, marshmallow fluff, fluffy creamy fruit shake.

Mouthfeel is thick and fluffy. Overall, very tasty, and very dangerous at 10%.

This brings my inventory down to 65...by far the lowest it has been in years, maybe a decade or more.

I promised to come back for a nightcap and here it is- been waiting for the right time to drink this small but mighty beer:
The pour is stout black with a light brown head that left a solid curtain of lace behind.
No aroma notes, but I am working on that.
The taste, well now- with a beer over 17% you generally get gimmicky, but this is distilled stout- the dark fruit, the cacao, the well brewed coffee, a little coffee roast - there’s a whole lotta stout crammed into this concentrated liquid.
The feel is softly viscous, definitely a sipping beer, and rightly so.
OA, so glad this was in a < 9 oz can - if it was more I think it would be difficult to finish. Not because I don’t like it, it’s just so *much*.
    Cheers all, and good night!

Paisley Cave Complex by Bottle Logic
    15% blueberry stout

A really nice stout for fans of blueberry and/or bourbon. Taste is full and lush with excellent mouthfeel. Aroma is a fat, sweet bourbon that is delightful if not complex. Personally, I don’t need complexity if the flavor is this good. Little head and lacing as expected with a barrel aged stout. I’d definitely try this one again. I have limited experience with Bottle Logic, but every beer tried from them has been very well crafted. Cheers to @2beerdogs for this delicious treat.

    Cheers to @2beerdogs for this

Bottle Logic Fractal Curve Peanut Brittle inspired Pastry Strong Ale with Lactose, Roasted Peanuts & Coconut, 8.8% ABV; 4.21 overall

Pours an effervescent copper/hazel with a sliver of beige head. Minimal head retention & lacing

S: Dark fruits, a touch of booze, fades as it warms

T: Rich decadent booze, Brandy or Bourbon or both?, Brown sugar, vanilla, coconut & tastes more like pecan than peanuts to me up front. Toasted coconut, toffee, warming booze with really smooth edges, plus dryness as this beer warms up. Finishes with rich toffee notes, coconuts & a touch of pecan & finally some peanuts

MF: Fairly chewy, low carbonation, slightly warming

Seem very much like a booze in fused Praline, loving it!

    Dear Lord.
    Hello late Night NBW.
Forgot to share my first Estonian tick... (@Roguer Doesn't that sound familiar:wink:)
    Kamin

11.2 oz bottle from Windsor Homebrew Supply in Anaheim, CA.
Deepest brown before black in hue. Mocha colored head asserts an inc and a half, lingers, then slowly settles in forming a clingy ring. Good retention, subtle lacing.
Nose abounds with the barrel notes listed. Starting things off is the sherry and cognac. Fruity, warm and round. Then the smokey peat chimes in very smoothly. Finally an undertone of the earthy malts.
Flavor follows the nose with all of these notes taking a turn. This is one complex, nuanced beauty.
    Mouthfeel is hefty, syrupy almost.

    Hey, y'all,

Despite the doom & gloom of the local weather prognosticators, snow that was predicted for Spokanistan towards the end of the week has mostly not happened (there was a slight dusting up the hill between Friday and Saturday overnight, but it was gone by late yesterday morning to an extent that made it hard to know it even happened). But there's much more doom and gloom about next weekend, where temperatures are predicted to plummet to below zero by Friday night, depending on which forecast you look at. It's been a couple years since it's gotten that cold here, and I've been okay with that. Right now it's clear and 25° outside, so perhaps we're edging towards that weather.

While watching the Seahawks barely beat the Cardinals to eke out a winning record, I hit a cold IPA from Lumberbeard that was brewed about a mile from me:

Started out with a lemony sort of citrusy hoppiness, then shifted to more of a tropical fruit flavor, before finishing clean and slightly dry.

During the second half, I hit an oatmeal stout from Trader Joe's:

Not bad for the price, but pretty one-note stuff.
I'm hitting one more right now, and will report back soon.

Finishing up tonight with one I've been sitting on for too damn long that came to me courtesy of the very generous @russpowell. I've been meaning to crack it open for a while, and at one point even took it to a bottle share that petered out before it's time had come. More recently I'd resolved to drink it on Christmas and on New Year's Eve, but both times I had worked double shifts and just wanted to eat dinner and go to bed, not drink and review a big, BBA milk stout.

Well, tonight, it's time has come...

Meryl Haggard is surprisingly mellow when it comes to it's booziness. Despite the bourbon barrel aging, it's very high abv mostly passes unremarkably. What heat there is comes, instead, from the Calabrian chiles, which are in the back half of the taste and were more assertive than I expected, given that the first half of the taste is that of a sweet, sugary chocolate candy bar. I predict I'm going to have some weird dreams tonight, but I should be warm in them, which might be just what I need on a night that's supposed to bottom out around 20°. Thanks, Russ!
