I too took a double take at that price. Kinda steep.

$11.52 each with hoarders and buy 6 discount.

    Nice! Thank you kindly.

Oloroso is the same as the last BT Sherry release, which I loved. Yum.

The 2021 release claimed 18 months aged and this new one is 3 years, so I wonder if it's all the same batch and casks?

New record I think: shop in the Ferry Building in San Francisco has BT bottles at $66 :joy:

Crazy! Store by me has had a case on the shelf for 50 something for over a month and not one has sold!

It's such a unique product...I just can't imagine who the impulse buyer is that sees it, understands what it is, and casually drops that amount.

And for anyone who has heard of Black Tuesday, and is any kind of craft beer nut, tracking it down via their website is just so easy now. Definitely an odd play by the distributers.

I love it. Excellent BT barrel variant in my book.

The Oloroso Sherry is very forward and very flavorful, but also balances well with the BT malt. Those light spritzy flavors make for a very... refreshing?... take on BT.

Compared to the previous BT Sherry in 2021 (which I also loved), this one is pretty sweet. Not cloying, and not too far for me, but I bet that will turn some people off. Whereas I felt the 2021 was fairly dry on the BT spectrum. I also thought the 2021 had a bit too much heat on it (even still when I had one late last year). Adios is smooth and mellow for dayzzzzz.

I'd definitely like to buy more. Right now the allocation page is showing zero single bottles available... but one three pack? So they must have added some allocation limits in after my purchase I guess?

I keep missing that some of these are smaller formats. Just noticed that Rye stout is also 12oz (As Far As The Rye Can See). .

Oh, maybe...I haven't figured out the method yet for what gets put in small vs large... Feels a bit random thus far.

Small format but I would say not a box. This doesn't feel like a "box label" - too much going on in the art work. I'll happily eat my words if they turn around and announce a sports themed dessert box lol

If anyone uses the DC pickup option make sure you check your email. "...(The Bruery) will be halting the Pick-Up option at our partner retailer, Mr. Daisy, in D.C. as of Friday January 19th... If you have already placed a cellar request order to pick up your 2023 beer in advance of the cellar pickup deadline, please note that it needs to be picked up no later than the end of next week (01/19/2024)...."

I was about to comment on this also. Does anyone know anything more about this? Some issues with quality and service? Also, have there been any updates about a new permanent location in the DC area?

That explains why my beers are being sent from Cali to Michigan instead of DC

Long time lurker of this thread, first time poster. I was jumping on to see what was going on cause my shipping to North Carolina was unusual. Ordered what I wanted of Furst and Dreamception (Reserve Member) on Wednesday and threw in what was left of my 2023 cellar. My cellar items shipped from DC and arrived next day in NC. Furst and Dreamception shipped from Cali today and expected the 22nd, ooof.

This is just an educated guess based on the earlier post, but if they've fallen out with their DC distributor and had already pre-shipped 2023 bottles to them in anticipation of fulfillment requests then they're probably eager to get those cleared out and minimize the stock they have to reclaim from the distributor.

However, they might not have had time to send that disturber any of this month's releases yet, thus the CA shipping.

    Maybe?

    Dreamception.

Another banger, very good. It's pretty intense though. There's a lot of adjunct, though it's well blended and flavorful in a good way. But I think the texture is most affected. It's so rich and creamy I'd compare it to melted ice cream. I'm assuming the nut fats are doing that.

The sweetness is surprisingly reserved, which is great. Allows the flavor to shine more.

I did the exact same thing (combined new purchases and cellar request) on Wednesday. Nothing has shipped yet and no updates provided. So, it could be worse!

I was wondering why the thread was so quiet and then I remembered there’s a new one each year. Happy new year everyone. Finally opened my 2019 mash and French toast to compare to Pain. Very close, but I find it superior in that it’s got a little more maple and a little less nutmeg. Still a favorite treatment all around though. Looking forward to the new beers as well, but one at a time.
