I'm not sure I've ever even heard of @malty until today, and I feel like Saint Malty should be the patron saint of this website.

I would nominate as a "beer saint" Rich Wagner of Philadelphia. Over the past 40+ years he has done an enormous amount to research the history of beer and brewing both in Philadelphia and throughout Pennsylvania. He has recreated colonial brewing techniques, written a book on the history of Philly brewing (and created a website), as well as led many historical tours delving into long forgotten brewing sites in the region.
I was privileged to meet Rich when he led a tour of the old Adam Scheidt/Prior brewery in Norristown a couple of years ago. And I just missed his East Fairmount Park tour of the area of the old Engel and Wolf brewery (significant as one of the first--if not the first--lager breweries in the US). Reading his work and talking with him greatly expanded my appreciation of Philadelphia's beer heritage (and its history in general).

I got a cup (as in a "family jewels" cup) because of that sacrifice.

Literally, a cup. It's still here somewhere.

I also got a literal cargo ship full of great beer, so I've got THAT going for me.

For sure! 100% agree! The boxes I received when I participated were always exceptional! And the pics in the group from the porch destruction boxes that were received were insane!

Started this craft beer journey 15 years ago, coming up on my 14th anniversary on BA. Many individuals were, and have been, so giving over the years.
It's a long story, but @jzeilinger and I lived 15 minutes from each other, a little longer of a drive since I moved to FL, and eventually met up for a beer share after numerous back and forth messages.
Needless to say, I had many beers that night I never thought I would be able to try! Also, left that night with many gifted beers! First time I had Heady Topper and Hill Farmstead beers. JZ is a great friend; generous and caring BA! Our family and his are still close and we make it a point to meet up when we go back to PA!

@Knapp85 has gifted me many of his great quality homebrews too.
So many crazy and rare beers were shared with @PhineasMcClintock as well.

@SammyJaxxxx and @BBThunderbolt blew up porch with MUCH more than what was expected or necessary during the BIF I participated in too!

There are many more that have shown generosity in this community, too many for to remember or able to mention!

    Cheers everyone!

@malty created NBS, and with @mattcrill as his backup, guided NBS through it's formative years. If you enjoy the NBS/W thread, those are the folks to thank.

You should pass that BIF cup around like we did the seat cushion.

I’d have to find it - but I do have the seat cushion for sure. It’s on the shelf in my office!

I consider @azuelke more of an exceptional beer godfather, but he should be recognized in this thread on multiple occasions.

I am aware of and take very seriously my duties as the holder of the cushion. I already have the beers selected to accompany the cushion to my target.
